August 22, 1953 – September 18, 2021
James Edward Williamson, Jr entered the gates of Heaven on September 18, 2021 to be with our Lord. He was born in St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston, Texas on August 22, 1953, to James Edward Williamson and Connie Witwicke Williamson.
He was a cheerleader at Deady Jr. High and graduated from Charles Milby High School in Houston, class of '71. After graduation, he attended a 4-year trade school and became a journeyman lather and plasterer. He helped build many commercial buildings in Texas including the Friendswood Post Office and the Friendswood Safeway store. He was a member of Lathers Local 224 for many years. He was very creative in building just about anything. After changing careers, he became a driver and dispatcher for PDQ and Cheetah Transportation.
As a father, James was always excited to attend his son’s football games and daughter’s dance recitals. Having a passion for bowling, he belonged to many bowling leagues in the Houston area. He loved listening and dancing the two step to country music.
James was preceded in death by his twin brother Thomas, parents James and Connie Williamson, and sister Sharon Williamson. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Snookie Quinn Williamson, son Daryl and his wife Valerie, daughter Denise, sister Peggy Swoboda and her husband Dennis, grandchildren Austin and Megan Williamson.
In lieu of a service, the family will have a private celebration of his life. Please feel free to share any memories you have of James and the family.

I worked at South Houston customer service with Snookie. I knew of her but we weren’t really close friends at that time. She was a supervisor or what we called a leader in customer service. I remember one day she was sitting at her desk and this really handsome guy comes bounding into the office with this million dollar smile and a vase of roses. I thought what a handsome man. He walked over to Snookies area came up behind her gave her the biggest hug and kiss. It was so long ago I can’t remember if it was her birthday or their anniversary. But I remember thinking Man I want somebody to love me like that. Snookie You were blessed to have that for 46 years. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you handle the loss of James. I love you and pray for strength for you.
I met Snookie in 1977, while working at HL&P. We instantly became friends. I met James during that same year. We took vacations together and spent a lot of time together as a family. I remember helping them move in their house in Friendswood. I have many fond memories of James. While I’m sorry for the loss, I find comfort knowing that he’s no longer suffering and is resting in the arms of Jesus. My deepest sympathy to Snookie, Daryl and Denise and the rest of the family.
I’m so thankful to have known my Uncle James. He greeted me every time with a big smile and curiosity about my life and children. Grateful also for an amazing Aunt Snookie and her faithfulness and two amazing cousins Daryl and Denise. Praying for comfort for you all. Love you.

I will always have fond memories of riding around (listening to the country music you mention!) in Mr. James' truck with Miss Snookie and Denise – going to football games, dance competitions, rides to the movies – so many times throughout my childhood. I am thankful for the 30 years of friendship I have with Denise, and the entire Williamson family. Sending you comfort and calm during this time.
