Imogene Jones Scarborough, 90, of Friendswood, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, November 1, 2022.
Imogene was born on July 1, 1932, in Bleckley County, Cochran, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Algron Roach and Mary Lucy Coley Jones. She lived in Georgia for 73 years before moving to Texas to be near her daughter.
Imogene worked for Civil Service at Robins AFB, Georgia for 27 years and was very active in her church, teaching classes and witnessing for the Lord. Once she moved to Texas and recovered from major surgeries, she lived at The Bedford, Friendswood Texas, and taught a Bible Study there until her health began declining.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Harris (Bob) of Friendswood, Texas, and Sheila Sibo (Dale Abernathey) of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She had 4 grandchildren: Jason Cox, Daina Cox Lamb, Justin Sibo and Christian Sibo; and 2 great grandchildren: Carson Cox and Tiffany Benson-Sibo. She is survived by her sister, Marlene Arnold of Cochran, Georgia and brother Claxton Jones of Amelia Island, Florida.
Imogene’s funeral service will take place on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home in Friendswood, Texas, at 11 A.M. A private burial at Confederate Cemetery, Alvin, Texas will be held.

I grew up and went to church with Imogene Scarborough and her family. I have such fond memories of the time I spent in her home with her daughter Sharon. She was an inspiration to me and I still remember some of the things she told me.
