Graciela "Grace" Rivas Lea

March 13, 1943 – March 13, 2025

Graciela “Grace” Lea, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025 at the age of 82 in Friendswood, Texas.  She was a funny, sassy and loving person who touched the lives of many with her warmth, sense of humor and devotion to God. 

Born in El Paso, Texas on March 13, 1943 Grace was the daughter of Jose Luis Rivas and Inez Rivas.  She is survived by James David Lea her husband of 63 years and daughters, Debra Ann Lea, Elizabeth Inez Lea-Melton, Linda Amber Rouen and son James David Lea Jr., grandchildren James Joseph Melton, Amanda Elizabeth Melton, Chelsea Marie Rouen, Mary Amber Rouen and Jonah Ethan Lea and great grandchildren Jade Elizabeth Melton and Roman Angelo Rivas.  She was predeceased by her parents Jose Luis Rivas and Inez Rivas and twin sons Joseph Dwayne Lea and James David Lea, II.  She was passionate about her family and God.

A Rosary/Viewing will be held for her on March 20, 2025 between 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546.

A Mass will be held for her on March 21,2025 at 11:30am at Mary Queen Catholic Church, 606 Cedarwood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 with Rev. James Kuczynski, M.S. officiating.  Burial to follow at South Park Cemetery at 1310 N. Main St., Pearland, Texas 77581.
