July 16, 1937 – February 25, 2025

George Eugene Kolb of Friendswood, TX died on February 25, 2025.   He was 87 years old.  He was the adopted son of Ethel and Willard Kolb. George was born in Buffalo, NY and spent his early years in Buffalo and Bradenton, FL.  He attended Illinois Wesleyan University and served in the Army Reserves.

George spent his entire career in the newspaper business working both as a sportswriter and copy editor winning an award from the Society of Newspaper Design.  He worked at five major newspapers during his career.

He is survived by his wife Linda, a son Robert and his wife Debra, and a granddaughter Lauren

A memorial service will be held April 24, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood TX 77546 with Rev. Jerry Stark officiating.
