February 13, 1951 – February 18, 2025
Gail Lynn Gibson (Schirmer), 74, passed away on February 18, 2025, at her family home outside of Houston, TX. Gail was born in Wichita Falls, TX, and moved with her family to western Washington where she graduated high school in 1969 from Newport High School in Bellevue, WA. She went on to join her beloved Delta Zeta sorority and recently celebrated her 50-year reunion with the sisters from her chapter in Seattle. Gail graduated from the University of Washington in 1974.
Gail worked for over 25 years for the Boeing Company and was always fascinated by air and space flight. She was an avid singer and performed for over 20 years with the Sweet Adelines International Chorus, including the Seattle, Houston and Woodlands, TX chapters, and the church choir at Clear Lake United Methodist Church. Gail loved her family fiercely and being “Mom” to her two daughters and later becoming “Nana” to her two grandchildren meant the world to her.
Gail was married to the love of her life, Russell Lee Gibson of Johnstown, PA, in 1975, and they stayed together until his passing in 2023. They were married in Alexandria, VA and later moved to Federal Way, WA in 1978 and then Friendswood, TX in 2001.
Gail is survived by her two daughters, Dr. Jennifer Gibson Chambers and husband Kevin (McHenry, IL), Bryana Gibson (Austin, TX), her sister, Sandra (Schirmer) Hearn (Fall City, WA), her two grandchildren, Violet Gibson (Amherst, MA) and Ben Gibson Bartoshek (Huntsville, TX), and many relatives, friends, chorus members, and the loving church community.
