March 7, 1946 – October 19, 2023

Freda Chisholm was born in Saulte Ste. Marie, Michigan on March 7, 1946, to William and Edith Watchorn. Freda was one of seven children and grew up surrounded by her brothers and sister.

After graduating from high school, Freda then completed her certification in Cosmetology.

Freda gave birth to four children, Marvin Wheeler Jr. in 1967, Wendy Wheeler in 1971, and eventually made their way to Texas where she had Julie Wheeler in 1975 and James E.T. Chisholm in 1987. Freda was a loving mother, a doting grandmother, a wonderful cook, and a devout Christian.

She loved God, her family, her morning coffee, and donut, and was a diehard fan of the Houston Astros. She showed her love by constantly doing for others and always lending a helping hand, never complaining about anything. She enjoyed simple pleasures like picking strawberries and apples in her youth, going to the beach, attending her church, doing her bible study, and counting her blessings. She loved to “run the roads” with her girls and spend time with her family. Freda was wonderful with children. She raised her own babies and played a large role in every one of her grandchildren’s lives. She often helped care for other children in the family, as well as the ones of family friends. She was feisty, thoughtful, and kindhearted beyond measure. Her impact on all our lives will never be forgotten.

Freda died peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family on October 19, 2023. She counted her blessings daily, but she was the true blessing to all of us. She will be sorely missed, and always treasured.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, William Watchorn and Edith Watchorn, siblings, Hazel, Herbert, William, James, and Harold Watchorn.

 She is survived by her brother, Albert Watchorn; children, Marvin and Patty Wheeler, Wendy Wheeler and Cliff Glasgow, Julie Wheeler and Cliff Gaspard, and James Chisholm and Keshia Heslip; grandchildren, Macy Samz, Jedidiah and Kathryn Holt, Angela and Brandon Knape, Riana Wheeler, Christopher, Nicholas, and Benjamin Wheeler, Jessica Glasgow, Kendall Glasgow, Chad, Brad, and Megan Gaspard; Great Grandchildren, Laila and Jase Holt, and Atlin Glasgow.
