Eugene Richard Magerr, Sr.

January 15, 1936 – August 24, 2022

Eugene Richard Magerr Sr. (86), of Friendswood, Texas died on August 24, 2022  in Webster, Texas. Born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late William Leo, and Grace Gibson Magerr.  

Eugene also known as (Gene, Gene-O, Pops, Pop Pop) was a skilled craftsman and a creative problem solver. He worked on cars as a body and fender man most of his life. Gene also loved building stereo systems and listening to music. He was compassionate, loving, and an extremely kind soul, offering a home to friends and family members in need, while never asking for anything in return.  

He was a devoted husband and lifelong partner (65 years) to Eleanor Magerr (Eschert), a loving father to Eugene Richard Jr., and wife Debbie Magerr, Mark Joseph, and wife Diane Magerr, he was also a devoted and loving grandfather (Pop Pop) to Mattea Samantha, and Danica Page Magerr. He was the youngest brother of the late, Leo, Edmond, Raymond, Donald, Paul, Arthur and sister Grace Magerr.

He is very dearly missed and will remain in our hearts forever.

  3. PopPop, will be so missed. We all have great memories with him that we will cherish forever. I can still hear his funny laugh, and how he always called to sing Happy Birthday to us… And now he can watch Baseball whenever he wants! He will forever be in our hearts!

      I will remember the good times we had when we were all together. Especially at your wedding. Even though I was very young I remember walking down that aisle.

  5. Having met Gene and Eleanor was truly a pleasure. I married into the Stewart family and she made me feel like I was part of the gang. How I wish Bob & I were closer. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, sons, daughters in laws and grandchildren during this difficult time. We love you

  7. Dear Eleanor, Mark and Gene,
    Beverly, Gordy and I are so saddened by Gene's passing. We are so sorry for your loss. You have our deepest condolences. Debbie and the girls were always so excited when you were able to visit and we were fortunate to share some of that excitement with all of you. I particularly remember the great pride that Gene took in Mattea and Danica and the love that they had for both of you. I know he will be greatly missed by all of us. I hope that your deep faith will give you solace and help you find peace through this time.
