December 29, 1969 – February 18, 2023
Eric Adelbert Fuentez was suddenly taken away from us on Feb 18, 2023 from his battle with cancer at the age of 53.
Eric was born in Houston, TX on December 29, 1969 to Albert and Maxine Fuentez, the second child after his sister Jeannine. Eric attended High School in South Houston. After graduation, Eric pursued a career in the oil field and worked at Baker Hughes for 24 yrs. During this time, he met his wife of 25 years, Sandra Fuentez.
Eric has always been a devoted husband, father and Papa to his wife, daughter, and grandchildren. He always made sure the grandkid’s “goodie bowl” was full when they came over but never failed to trick them by saying everything in there was all his. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, and golfing. Later in life, Eric watched the Food Network regularly for recipe ideas that he could dream of creating while going out to dinner in the evening that followed.
Eric was preceded in death by his father, Albert Fuentez; grandparents, EC Baker and Alberto and Paula Fuentes; grandparent-in-laws, Paul and Ruby Higgins; father-in-law, Dickie Brewer; and step father-in-law, Bill Lynch.

This is wife. I have no words, another than I will always LOVE YOU!
I meant…..your wife
I’ve known Eric since we were in 6th grade. As kids and into our 20’s we were very close. We would spend most of our time as kids fishing, playing basketball or shooting bullfrogs with our pellet guns. I’m pretty sure the bullfrog population in sun valley is still recovering to this day.
I was there when he took his first dip of Copenhagen. He took a dip…I took a dip. I got sick then he got sick. I never touched it again and if you know Eric then you know he persevered!
One thing Eric loved to do when we were kids was sleep, he was always sleeping!
If we ever needed another player to play basketball we’d run around to Eric’s to see if he wanted to play and sure enough, we’d knock on the door and Maxine would say “Eric’s back there taking a nap.” She’d let us go back there and get him up but he wouldn’t be too happy about it and he’d let you know real quick.
Eric would spend the night at my house and I remember it would be late at night and we would just lay there and talk. We’d talk about the country song on the radio, fishing, girls…we’d just talk until one of us passed out.
We didn’t see each other as often in our older years but anytime I had birthday or house party he would always be one of the first people I would think to invite and seeing him would be like we never missed a beat. That’s the kind of friend he was… his friendship was unconditional.
I loved Eric Fuentes and I will never forget the memories we shared throughout our lives.
I meant….your wife
My heart goes out to you and everyone else.
Eric, you will be sorely missed. I am not sure anyone else in our family can spin a yarn or stretch the truth in telling tales quite like you. GOD bless.
