In Loving Memory

Enrique Valdez

January 4, 1943 – August 24, 2021

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Enrique (Henry) Valdez on August 24, 2021.  Enrique was born in Brownsville, Texas, but lived in Friendswood, Texas for over forty-seven years.  You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with family.  You may also light a candle at Mary Queen Catholic Church in honor of Enrique.

Enrique is loved and cherished by many including his wife Ofelia Valdez, his son Enrique Valdez, Jr., his daughter-in-law Dianne Valdez, all of Friendswood, Texas. Enrique is survived by his brother, Ruben Valdez (Nancy) and his sister Nola Bell (Wayne). Enrique was preceded in death by his son, David Valdez, his parents Jose and Aurora Valdez, and his sister Felipa Gallo.

Enrique served four years in the United States Air Force where he developed the skills that he was later to demonstrate in the Space Program, and eventually to establish a successful technology company.

Enrique married the love of his life Ofelia in 1966 and dedicated his life to her care and wellbeing.  Enrique’s most gratified accomplishment was raising two sons, who made him proud with their educations, careers, and their devotion to the Catholic faith. He enjoyed playing golf with his sons on a weekly basis, instilling in them the tenets of honor, integrity, and fair play.

A rosary and mass will be held at on Thursday, September 30, 2021, starting at 9:30 A.M. at Mary Queen Catholic Church, 606 Cedarwood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546.

  1. Henry,
My friend I am in a lose for words. We have been business partners and close friends for 33years. I have enjoyed the ride, the laughs, the serious talks, building our business and of course the advice. Buu said the other day it's not the same with out you, it will not be. But we can't second guess the Lords plan. Till we meet again I will keep the memories strong. Ofelia, Rick, and Dianne you all are in my prayers and thoughts. Dave

  2. Dear Henry,

Throughout my life I always loved you and your family. Brothers have a very special bond and ours was exactly that. Growing up with you was so special. I can recall so many of the things we shared and did and all the fun we had as kids. I always admired and respected you and I knew you were always someone I could count on and trust. Your advice through the years was so helpful to me and you were always the one I could turn to when I needed help. There is nothing I wouldn't have done or wouldn't do for you or your family. You were a wonderful husband and father the love you all had for each other was very rare to see these days.

Although you are no longer with us physically, your memories live on in our hearts and minds. God truly is perfect especially when he made you my brother.

RIP in God's Kingdom of Heaven.

    Your loving brother,

    Benny

  3. I met Henry in 1980. He was my boss, mentor, and later business partner. He was a great husband, and father. He had a wicked sense of humor.
Blessings to his family in the loss of this wonderful person.
