In Loving Memory

Emily Dawn Holmes

November 30, 1986 – November 4, 2021

Our beloved Emily Dawn Holmes was born on November 30, 1986, to Darrell and Lucinda Holmes. She was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 4, 2021.

Emily was the light of the Holmes family. Her beautiful smile, kind heart, and infectious laugh made her a friend to everyone she met. She was known as Emily, Emmy, and her favorite name and the most cherished role was Auntie. During a recent conversation, she shared that her greatest love was her nephews. Emily was more than a sister to Drew; she was his dear friend. Spending many nights with Drew, Melany, Cam, and Jack playing outside, teaching cat-cow yoga, and hosting dance parties demonstrated the special bond she had with her family.

Emily was an amazing and dedicated daughter. She loved her parents deeply. She described her mother as her best friend and her father as her hero who loved and supported her. She put her parents' needs first and went out of her way to make sure they knew she loved them deeply.

Emily was fun, playful, and always made everyone smile. Her circle of friends is vast; she touched many lives with her tender heart. She loved the Lord, and you can see that in how she treated everyone she met, so genuinely loving.

As we say our prayers, I know that our beautiful Emily is hearing them. We have all gained the most beautiful angel who will forever watch over us. She will protect and guide us until we see her again.

Emily was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Otho and Ruby McCallister, and her paternal grandparents, Claude and Stella Holmes.

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents Darrell and Lucinda Holmes; her brother Andrew Holmes and wife Melany; nephews Camden and Jackson Holmes; along with extended family and countless friends.

Friends are cordially invited to attend a visitation with the family at 2:00 P.M., with the Celebration of Life to begin at 3:00 P.M., on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546, (281) 992-7200.

Condolences may be sent to the Holmes family in care of Jeter Memorial Funeral Home at www.jeterfuneralhome.com.

  2. Words cannot describe the hurt in our hearts. The one thing that brings comfort is when I think of the memories and all I can do is smile and laugh. She was nothing but pure light, joy and love!!! She is truly one of a kind and her spirit will live on. We miss and love you! Thank you Emily for the great times we spent with friends! Can't wait to see you again and have some great laughs!

Emily always had a smile on her face. The few times I was with Emily was because she was spending the time with Drew and his family. She most definitely put her family and friends first. I know there is a big hole in so many hearts right now. I only hope that you have comfort in knowing what a wonderful Angel she will continue to be watching over all of you especially Cam and Jack. Thinking of you all!

Our hearts go out to the Holmes family and all of Emily’s friends. We remember her as a kind, fun loving person with such a welcoming heart. There are individuals on this earth that everyone gravitates too, and Emily was one of them. Those people are rare and irreplaceable. Emily is irreplaceable. She will forever be remembered and loved by so many, because people like Emily have a special gift of leaving long lasting impressions on everyone they meet. We pray that her family and friends find comfort in God and in the memories she left behind.
