Ellena Edwards was born in Boling, Texas, on December 31, 1938, to Eddie and Julia Stredic. Ellena was the youngest of three girls. She attended school in Boling, Texas. Ellena Edwards accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in Boling. She attended Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.
At the age of seventeen, she moved to Alvin, Texas. She joined Greater New Hope Baptist Church and remained a faithful member until taking sick. Ellena worked for over 20 plus years for Dickinson Independent School District. Aunt Pita, known to some as “Charlie,” will definitely be missed. She was so many things to so many family members; she was always kind and loving, and we will cherish her memories forever.
She was preceded in death and joyously welcomed into Heaven by her parents: Eddie and Julia Stredic, and her two sisters: Essie Archie Tyson and Gussie Stredic Robinson.
Left to lovingly cherish Ellena’s memory are her Son: Louis Stredic, Daughter: Deborah Pierson of Alvin, Texas and Step-Daughter: Erma Mumphrey (Cricket) of Needville, Texas; Grandchildren: Tiffany Stredic of Alvin, Texas, Lasha Stredic of Alvin, Texas, Stephanie Stredic of Houston, Texas, Justin Earls (Anna) of Alvin, Texas, Ebony Meredith (Derian) of Alvin, Texas; Great-Grandchildren: Christopher Allen of Alvin, Texas, Stephon Allen of Alvin, Texas, Jayden Earls of Alvin, Texas, Trae Harrison of Alvin, Texas, Jamie Earls of Heidelberg, Germany, Dreyson Meredith of Alvin, Texas, Ameri Earls; Great-Great Grandchildren: Izael Cruz-Allen of Alvin, Texas; God Children: Doris West of Alvin, Texas, Andrea Mitchell of Houston, Texas, Allonia Archie of Texas City, Texas, Christopher Williams of Alvin, Texas; Special nieces; Marie Archie and Marie Earls (Rito); Special friends: Dorothy Petty of Alvin, Texas, Sharon Larson, Jeanette Cofield of Alvin, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Greater New Hope Baptist Church, 908 N. 2nd Street, Alvin, Texas 77511 with Rev. Donald Archie officiating.
