In Loving Memory of
Elizabeth Ann VanSickle
AKA “Red”
Mom’s life journey started in Crawford Texas as a little girl being raised by her grandparents. Her grandfather gave her hand in marriage to her husband Floyd Lange. Floyd was a butcher, and they were married for 25 wonderful years. (1957-1982). They had one Daughter, Valorie. Floyd died in 1982.
Three years later Mom met and married Edgar VanSickle. They had a great Family and Church life together. They attended St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Edgar died in 2007. They were married 22 years. Edgar was an engineer.
Three years later Mom met and married Lynn Kilborn. They had a great life together also. Except it was cut short. Lynn died in 2014. They were married almost 4 years.
I watched my mother be the ultimate caregiver to her husbands in their time of need. Which made it second nature for me to do so for her in her time of need.
My mother was a hard worker, tenacious and a bit stubborn. She had a big soft spot for little children and anyone in need. My mother spent her entire career in the dry-cleaning industry as a manager and owner. Yes, she was always in charge!
My mother leaves behind a grateful daughter and son in law (Valorie and Chris Sterling), two granddaughters (Karen Spann-Rivas and Jenny Sterling), three great grandchildren (Sadie and Brandon Rivas, and Jayden Sterling), several stepdaughters, and stepsons from the VanSickle and Kilborn families. Along with many close relatives and friends.
My mother enjoyed traveling, taking cruises and most of all playing cards, and going out to lunch with her close friends. She had a passion for the holidays, especially Christmas!
Another two things that brought my Mom, great Joy was her dog, Mr. Guss, and driving her Red Lincoln! Oh! Can’t forget to mention she was definitely, a fashionista. Always, trying to keep up with the latest fashion trends. She will be missed – but never forgotten! May she join those family members that have gone before her. May they welcome her with open arms.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 2535 E Broadway Street, Pearland, Texas 77581 starting at 9L00 A.M. funeral service will follow at 10:00 A.M. at St. Andrew's.
