In Loving Memory

Dorothy Joan Donegan Barrow

August 8, 1971 – November 28, 2023

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dorothy Joan Donegan Barrow, lovingly know as Dot, on November 28, 2023.  Dot was born on August 8, 1971, in Plymouth, MA, to her parents, Norman G. (deceased) and Mary Ann Donegan.

Dot spent her childhood on Birch St. in Pembroke, MA, where she enjoyed the simple joys of playing outside with her sisters and neighborhood friends, whether it be building igloos, having snowball fights in the winter, or engaging in epic backyard games, including her sister Elizabeth’s infamous “the belt game.”

Dot’s upbringing was filled with memories of going to the beach, walking to the Country Corner Store, riding bikes, making forts in the woods, and eagerly awaiting the arrival of the ice cream truck on hot summer days.  The doors of 136 Birch were always open to neighborhood kids.

Dot deeply loved dogs and brought home “Crazy Kramer,” the Dalmatian known to make everyone run for cover.  She graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School, where she played field hockey and softball.  She pursued further education at Massasoit Community College.  Dot loved being a bookkeeper and worked in the profession for over 20 years.

Dorothy was blessed with two beautiful daughters.  Anna was born in 1998, followed by Marguerite (Maggie) two years later.  Dot’s journey took her to various places, including Massachusetts, West Virginia, and Florida.  However, her longing to be close to family prompted her to uproot herself and her daughters from Florida and settle in Friendswood, TX.

Dot remained a devoted fan of the New England Patriots throughout her life.

In Texas, Dot crossed paths with a wonderful man named Chris Barrow, and the built a life together over the past several years.  Her family and friends will deeply miss Dot’s infectious laughter, kind heart, and unwavering love.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Chris; her cherished daughters, Anna and Maggie; her mother, Mary; her sisters Anne Theall (Jeff), Elizabeth Donegan (Karen), Barbara Sanders (Greg, deceased), and Carol Stuart (Mike); and numerous nieces and nephews.  Dot also leaves her two beloved dogs, Bonnie, Clyde, and Hagen (deceased), her faithful companions.

As we lay our dear little sister, daughter, mom and wife to rest, our hearts break with grief.

Dot, we miss you dearly and hope you have found peace.  In lieu of flowers, we kindly request contributions to GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/12740c4b for Anna and Maggie, as their well-being was always close to Dot’s heart.

Dot’s life will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 4, 2023 at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home in Friendswood, TX.  Immediately following the service, we ask that all of Dot’s friends and family gather at the home of her sister, Anne, in Friendswood, TX, to reminisce and share some of your memories of Dot
