Doris Nell Rogers Dietrich

August 4, 1932 – March 30, 2024

Doris Nell Rogers Dietrich, 91, a longtime resident of Alvin, Texas, died peacefully in Spring Branch, Texas, March 30, 2024.  Doris was born August 4, 1932, in Houston, Texas to Esker Jack Rogers and Jewell Dorothy (Hardcastle) Rogers.  She graduated from San Jacinto High School at the age of 18 in January of 1951, and married the love of her life, Albert Lawrence Dietrich, April 4, 1951. They moved to Alvin in 1956. Doris’ first job with Alvin ISD was as a volunteer Dyslexia Tutor at Mark Twain Primary.  She then became the first Bookkeeper for Alvin ISD, where she worked until she retired in 1997, after 29 years of service.  She was an active member of South Park Baptist Church where she was involved in Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, Girls in Action (GAs) and her favorite, the Library.

Doris was proceeded in death by her parents, two brothers, husband and grandson, Tommy Dietrich.  She is survived by her son Albert Lawrence Dietrich, Jr. and wife Karen, Robert Esker Dietrich and wife Judy, Daniel Andrew Dietrich and wife Cynthia, Michael Joseph Dietrich and wife Dee, and Ron Kieth Dietrich and wife Mickie. She also had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. with the funeral service to begin at 11:00 A.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas  77546,  respectively with Dr. Howard Daniel officiating. Interment will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Humble, Texas.

Pallbearers will include Joshua Dietrich, Adam Dietrich, Brenton Dietrich, Garret Dietrich, Zack Dietrich and Bill J. Rogers, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Doris' memory to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org or South Park Baptist Church Vacation Bible School program, 1718 S. Johnson St., Alvin, Texas 77511.
