In Loving Memory

Donald Pete Del Bello

April 16, 1939 – September 17, 2024

Donald Pete Del Bello, 85, of League City, TX, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. He was born April 16, 1939 in Manvel, TX, the youngest of three children of Frank Del Bello and Alvira Marasckin. Don enjoyed growing up in the largest Italian family in the area, among many cousins and extended family. He graduated from Alvin High School in 1957 and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Don proudly served in the Navy for four years as a member of the Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team ground crew as an avionics technician. After the Navy, he married Rita Sue Hall in 1961 and they raised two children in Manvel. Don worked as an electronics technician and manufacturing supervisor in the oil & gas industry for many years, and traveled the world for four years as a field service technician while living in Ft. Collins, CO. He moved back to Manvel in 1993 to spend his golden years around family, and finally retired in 2001. Don lived most of his 85 years in Manvel and recently moved to The Crossings Retirement Community in League City. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and fishing Galveston Bay was his favorite pastime. Don also took immense pleasure in tinkering, woodworking, and even inventing new gadgets in his workshop. He will be fondly remembered for his kind heart, warm smile, and ability to fix anything under the sun.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, son Bradley Del Bello, and sister Reta Del Bello Jarrett. He is survived by his daughter Kimberli Kaye Del Bello Watkins and husband Scott of League City; son Kevin Lee Del Bello and spouse Carrie of Alvin; granddaughter Danielle Nicole Watkins Mellen and husband Daniel of League City; great-grandchildren Grayson Chase Mellen and Devon Reese Mellen; sister Frances Del Bello Johnston of Pearland, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other beloved relatives and friends.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Clear Creek Community Church, Clear Lake Campus, 16743 Diana Lane, Houston, TX. All are invited to attend.
