August 20, 1956 – January 20, 2022
Dennis James Seith, the most cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend went to be home with the Lord on Thursday, January 20, 2022.
Dennis was born in St. Louis, Missouri to George and Geraldine Seith August 20,1956. He grew up as a vivacious boy who loved sports and adventure alongside his older brother Mike and younger sister Linda. In 1969, his family moved to Houston, Texas and he graduated from Cy-Fair High School in 1974.
He attended and wrestled for North Texas State University and later transferred to Texas A&M University. He graduated in 1979 with a degree in Chemical Engineering (whoop!). He went to work for Amoco Chemicals at Chocolate Bayou and later was transferred to the corporate office in Chicago.
Dennis met the absolute love of his life, Cathy, while they both attended Texas A&M. They married in 1981 in Cathy’s hometown of Albany, Texas. They welcomed their first child Jeremy in 1983, then Melissa in 1986 after making the move with Amoco to Chicago, Illinois, and Thomas in 1990. It was there in Glen Ellyn that they raised their children.
In 2005, after Melissa and Jeremy graduated high school, they moved the family to Friendswood, Texas to lead what became one of the most successful chemical companies in the world, Ineos Olefins and Polymers, USA.
After retiring in 2017, he enjoyed an abundance of new grandchildren. He spent his time traveling to visit family, national parks, taking leadership roles at church, and dedicating even more of his time to volunteering.
He never failed to put faith and family at the forefront of all he did. He showed integrity, generosity, kindness, care, strong work ethic, and a sense of humor his entire life. He made sure that he gave all the glory of his success in life to God. He lived every day with intention and shared the gospel every chance he had.
Dennis had a life well lived.
He is survived by his wife Cathy Seith, his children Jeremy Seith (Amelia), Melissa Miller (Ben), and Thomas Seith (Emily). His grandchildren, Maya Miller, Sylvie Seith, Leo Miller, Adler Seith, Archer Seith, Cooper Seith, and baby girl Story Seith (due in April), his brother Mike Seith and his sister Linda Fritsch. So many memories of the great person Dennis was, he is and will be missed by us.
Seith Family,
Please know, we send our love, thoughts and prayers now and always. We are blessed to have known Dennis and all of you as family and treasure the times shared with you. Words seen insufficient to describe the kind of person Dennis was in this life. I think of him as a "shining star". Pat loved him and your family so much. I always appreciated how good Dennis and all of you were to her. I know you will find comfort in knowing he is with loved ones and resting in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Our deepest sympathy and sorrow.
Russ and I send our love and prayers. We have been blessed to know and share time with Dennis( and Cathy) One of Russ’’ first responses when told Dennis had gone to be with our Lord was:” Dennis had the most radiating smile, and that will always be in my memories.” That smile made us feel always known welcomed and loved no matter how many years between seeing him. Love to you all, Russ and Caroline Van Atter( Jane’s sister😉)
Dear Seith Family,
Dennis was a wonderful man who will truly be missed. I had the great fortune to work with him. His kindness, dedication to family, colleagues and friends, as well as his good humor always made one smile. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Words can't express our feelings . . . shocked, sorrow, and so many good memories. From the days Cathy would babysit Josh to those times having a good laugh with the both of you. As Dennis always said, "Even though we hadn't seen each other for some time, our conversations picked up right where we left off" as we shared stories about our kids, our families. He will be truly missed as a treasured friend. Our prayers go out to Cathy, their children, and grandchildren.

Cathy and family,
We are praying that the God of all comfort will be with you as you walk through this sad time. We are crying with you and remembering happy times that we spent together.
We love you.
You have to bring your A game when working with Dennis on insurance. I truly believe he read and understood his insurance policies!
Dennis impacted so many student lives thru his work with Texas A&M Engineering program and his other volunteer projects.
My condolences to the Seith Family.
Dennis was a great Aggie and a credit to God, his family, and Texas A&M. He served many years on our College of Engineering Advisory Council and always had great ideas about how to improve the College of Engineering and the education process of A&M students. We will miss him greatly and send our sympathies and love to his family.
Bill and I are sending our condolences and prayers for strength to Cathy and the entire Seith family. We didn’t know Dennis well but enjoyed him for his humor and his loving care of everyone around him. He was a Godsend to our sweet Pat and generous to a fault. We are so glad we knew him. I worked for Dennis as a business manager and Dennis mentored and coached me to become a better servant-leader. Dennis always took care of the whole team. God bless him.

I had the opportunity to work at Ineos for ten years. Dennis Seith was a godly man who embodied what it means to live out your faith in the world. He never compromised on his principles. As a CEO, he was respected, led by example, and cared for those who worked with him. I know it was a “ God thing “ that allowed our paths to cross. He made a huge impact on all our lives and I will never forget his genuine and rooted faith in God. To his beloved family, you are blessed to have had such a strong spiritual leader and his legacy will live on through each and every one of you.

My sincere condolences to the Seith family. I had the opportunity and good fortune to work with Dennis on an Amoco business development project in the Middle East in the mid 1990’s. I considered him to be my friend. At times we would disagree, but he always treated me with respect. When I retired from BP in 2005, I invited him to my retirement party, knowing that he could not attend. He still took time out to respond in his usual personal way that he could not attend. Sometimes, the good they die young. He was certainly one of them.

Dear Seith Family:
My husband and I are sorry for the pain you are feeling, and we desire to provide some comfort. (Colossians 4:11) From all the condolences provided for Dennis Seith, it showed he was very loved. I also appreciate the quote: “He never failed to put faith and family at the forefront of all he did. He showed integrity, generosity, kindness, care, strong work ethic, and a sense of humor his entire life. He made sure that he gave all the glory of his success in life to God. He lived every day with intention and shared the gospel every chance he had.”
It is so heartening to read of one’s testimony for serving the Creator. Surely God has kept in his limitless memory a detailed record of Dennis and will resurrect him by means of his almighty power. (Job 37:23; Matthew 10:30; Luke 20:37, 38)
May your family have a blessed day.
