In Loving Memory

Denise Ann Hartley Baden

August 27, 1957 – December 6, 2024

Denise Ann Hartley Baden, 67, of Friendswood, Texas passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024.  She was born August 27, 1957 in Ridgewood, New Jersey.  She was the only child of Jack and Norma Hartley, who tried for 7 years to have a child, she was well loved and taken care of.

Denise went to Bucknell University in Pennsylvania and did quite well, so she decided to go to Physician Assistant school.  Since she loved horses, she decided to come to Texas and attended the Baylor P.A program.  After attaining her P.A. license, she worked for a Multi-Specialty group as a General Surgical P.A. eventually assisting 4 General Surgeons.  She rose to the top of her profession and always had a love for horses and dogs.

We met while walking down a hallway, she was lovely with her long blond hair.  I sat next to her during CME’s and tried to develop a relationship, luckily, I did.  I finally asked Denise out and we went out the third week of February to dinner and closed the place down.  Denise and I have been together ever since that day.

During our relationship, she always had horses and dogs.  She had 2 horses and then welcomed a third one and 1 house dog.  She even got me a dog as I did not have one.  Denise eventually owned 3 horses and 5 dogs.  She loved her animals and worked hard to spend time loving them, and me.  She was organized and made sure everybody received attention.  She eventually settled on 1 special horse named Q, 3 dogs at home and even fit me in.

Denise and I got married the day after her birthday on August 28, 1988.  We have been together every day since.  I started a private practice as an OB/GYN in 1990, and she came to work with me in 1992.  We worked and operated together, and she developed her own patients.  We drove to work every morning together and came home at lunch to walk the dogs and spent every night together.  She was always busy, but you would never know.  She had a large practice of her own, but always found time to talk to patients.  I always heard laughter from her rooms.  Her patients loved her.

When I got sick, she took great care of me.  I would not have survived without her help.  I owe her my life.  Denise was a special person, and we had a special relationship.  The day she passed away she kissed me goodbye with a smile on her face and went to ride her horse.

I miss her terribly, she was a very special women, loving wife and my best friend.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 9:00 A.M. with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 A.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546.  Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.

Her husband would come to class with Denise often. They were a very nice and Loving couple . Denise had a bubbly and happy personality and always had a smile that would brighten my day. 6. I think of you both with such love and respect. Your love for each other created a joy around you both, together that joy is palpable. She will be missed beyond words.

The depth of her loss is a direct reflection of the love and care she showed us all.

  7. I met Denise many years ago through the Pet Therapy program, Caring Critters, and continued our friendship at various dog sport events such as Rally and Obedience. I will miss her smile and warmth. She was such a kind person with an open, generous heart. I loved sitting next to her and letting her calm energy wash over me. She will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

  8. Beautiful words, Ron. My deepest condolences on your loss of Denise. She loved her dogs and her horses fiercely – but we all knew that you, Ron, were the "top dog" in her life…. Thank you for sharing her with us.
Denise was a special person that I got to know through dog agility – she was so cheerful and complimentary towards others, whether at practice or in competitions. And she was so generous and reassuring with her knowledge – always there to lend an ear and give advice to many of us on issues that we would experience with our dogs and/or ourselves. I will miss her warm, caring smile, her cheerful greetings, her calming presence, and her generous encouragement of others.

  9. I have many fond memories of Denise during my 11 years of working with her and Dr. Baden. She taught me so much and was always willing to help me no matter how busy she was herself. She was also a big part of bringing my 2 precious children in to the world both during my pregnancies and deliveries. What I will remember the most about her is how much she put her heart and soul in to everything she did and to all of those that were important to her; especially Dr Baden. May she rest in eternal peace. To Dr. Baden; you will be in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Sending you a big hug.

  10. A true love story you two shared, Dr. Baden. There are no words possible to express the impact Denise made on my hearts. She was so kind, nurturing, and downright brilliant. Much love to you Dr. Baden.

  11. Ron, I was devastated to hear this news about Denise. I am so very sorry for your loss. You and all of your family and all the fur babies are in my thoughts and prayers. I know she will be deeply missed. Prayers that your memories of your wonderful life together will bring you solace and peace.

  12. Dr. Baden,

I am just hearing this terrible news. I am so saddened to hear it. I have been a patient of your practice for well over 30 years. I loved talking with her. She was so personable and calming and always made me feel at ease. She will be missed and you have my sincere condolences.
