February 11, 1950 – January 17, 2024
David Tyler Craig, age 73, of Friendswood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. He was born February 11, 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas to James Edward Craig and Dorothy Milliron Craig.
Dave was a loving husband, father, and grandfather (Poppy). He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas in 1968. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He met and married his wife, Wanda in August 1973. He was a safety engineer and worked in several chemical plants for Munday Corporation.
Dave struggled to show his love at times, but his love shown through his acts of service like cooking a huge meal, picking up grandkids every day from school, and taking care of the needs of those around him. Dave loved to barbecue and share his love for food with his friends and family. He made the best brisket in Texas and always cooked enough to feed the whole family multiple meals. When he retired, he devoted most of his time with his grandchildren, making sure they never had to wait at school for a ride. He was first in line every day, rain or shine.
Dave’s love for nature went beyond hunting and fishing as he created his own wildlife preserve in the backyard. If he left you responsible for taking care of the house while out of town, the birds were the most important responsibility. Heaven forbid you forget to put out the bird seed. Dave was a man of faith and considered his life verse to be Isaiah 44:3.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy Craig.
