David Paul Petersen

January 12, 1962 – January 6, 2022

     David Paul Petersen, 59, of Houston, Texas passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022.  David was born January 12, 1962, in Ponca City, OK, to Fredrick and Loyce Petersen. He was baptized January 28, 1962, at First Lutheran Church in Ponca City, OK and was confirmed at Christ Redeemer Lutheran Church in La Porte, TX on May 13, 1976. 

     David graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in Pasadena, TX, May 1980 and received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX.  Later he graduated from South Texas College of Law in Houston, TX, and became a member of the State Bar of Texas on May 1, 1992.  He practiced law in southeast Texas as a Personal Injury Lawyer for over 25 years with the Law Offices of David Petersen PC, until the time of his death.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at his coastal property in Sargent, TX.

     David was preceded in death by his father and mother.

     He is survived by his brother, Jonathan Petersen and sister-in-law Junelle Petersen of Friendswood, TX, nieces Carissa Petersen of Houston, TX and Kayla Moravits and husband Lukas of League City, TX, and the love of his life, Dawn Tisdale of Sargent, TX.

     Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a visitation at 9:30 A.M., with the memorial service to begin at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Hope Lutheran Church, 1804 S. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546, with Rev. Ralph Hobratschk officiating.

  1. My sincere condolences to Dawn, Jon, Junelle and the entire family on your loss. I can assure you that no man loved the outdoors more than David. He will be greatly missed.

  2. With a heavy heart I send my prayers to you all. David had such a fulfilling life that was taken by surprise to all. Wish I could be there in person but won’t be able to make the trip. Sincerely hope you understand. I will be though in thought and 🙏.
