November 20, 1952 – August 30, 2023
Danny Meredith Yarberry was born on November 20, 1952, to Garland W. Yarberry and Bernice L. (Wolfe) Yarberry in Wichita, KS. Dan was the middle of three children. Dan was a Graduate of Clear Lake High School in 1970. He graduated from Western Washington University in 1976 with a degree in Business Administration.
He met his wife, Janel, in 1974 in Kent, WA. when they went on a blind double date with his brother Sam and his girlfriend, who was a good friend of Janel’s. They fell in love very quickly and moved to Houston. They got married on January 5, 1980, in Black Diamond, WA. After 11 years of having fun, they finally decided to add some extra noise to the house and had their first child, Jason, who actually ended up being a quiet baby. After four more years, they really added some noise with their daughter, Briahna, who could do no wrong in her dad’s eyes.
Dan was a man of many talents and could fix anything that he set his mind to. He had a passion for music and concerts, fixing cars and attending car shows, spending time with his family on the boat and at the pool, and grilling. He was very involved in Boy Scouts with Jason and was a major staple with Science Fair projects for Briahna. He had an entrepreneurial spirit starting many successful businesses, including Comfort Furniture, Vaquero’s Mexican Restaurant, Deep Luster Detailing, and Dan’s Do-It-For-You Handyman Service.
He retired in 2020 to start relaxing…. HA! We all know he never relaxed. He was always busy, even to his last days, working on houses and troubleshooting every question or problem family and friends could come up with.
He was preceded in death by his father, Garland W. Yarberry and his older brother, Stanley G. Yarberry. He is survived by his wife, Janel M. Yarberry; son, Jason D. and his wife, Morgan; daughter, Briahna L. Butts and her husband, Joshua; his mother, Bernice L. Yarberry, who subsequently passed away on September 5, 2023; sister, Jacqueline Y. Williams, and her husband, David; aunt, Linda Wolfe Madzey; numerous nieces and nephews, including Anthony, Adam, Cassie, Gabrielle, Crystal, Tiffany, cousins and other extended family members.
The Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on December 2, 2023 at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dan’s life with his family. There will be a reception with refreshments immediately following the service at The Bar at Friends Uncorked, 111 S.
