In Loving Memory

Charles Andrew Nagy

November 1, 1942 – April 18, 2023

Charles Andrew Nagy 80, of Friendswood, Texas passed away on April 18, 2023. Charles was born on November 1, 1942, to Charles and Elizabeth (Kosiczki) Nagy in Detroit, Michigan.

Charles is survived by his three daughters, Christine Giammaruti and husband Bob, Andrea Lucero and husband Sergio, Sara Barrington and husband Mark; grandsons Micah, Nicholas, Wyatt, Lucah, Seneca, Kolby and Matthew, granddaughters Kaitlynn and Savannah; sister, Kathy Jelsomeno and husband Tom; nephews, Adam Spagnol and Anthony Spagnol and wife Colleen; great niece Betty;  cousins and other family and friends.

Charles is preceded in death by his wife Delsie Nagy, parents Charles and Elizabeth Nagy, brother Robert Nagy, and daughter Teresa Carpenter.

Charles enjoyed many hobbies which included going to the gun range, playing chess, learning, working on computers, fixing computers for family and friends, teaching his grandchildren, family and friends.

Charles and his wife Delsie were involved in a project in Friendswood, “One Nation Under God” a call to remembrance. It was something they enjoyed doing together. They were on a committee that commissioned a local artist to make a painting consisting of different vignettes depicting various points in our nation’s history.  They were very patriotic.  A quote from a booklet that someone received when they purchased a picture depicts Charles’ thoughts regarding why he was involved in the project is as follows; “The history of our nation is far more than a collection of stale facts. In that history are embedded the principles and philosophies of the founders that formed the foundation upon which the social fabric, political institutions, and character of our nation were built. These principles and philosophies were incorporated into our founding documents, and their effects are recorded in the chronicled events of American history. Understanding them is fundamental to the preservation of the liberty and freedom we enjoy as individuals and as a nation.”

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 9:00 A.M. with the service to begin at 10:00 A.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546, (281) 992-7200 with Rev. Jerry Stark officiating.

I love you, Buddy! You will always be in my heart. My big brother! I cherished our trips and visits we’ve had. I know you are at peace with the rest of our family . Love always, your baby sister Kathy

  2. I always enjoyed visiting Texas and seeing everyone on the 3 summer trips I made down there. Was a treat to visit the Space Center and see where Uncle Buddy worked and the projects he was doing at those times. Sending prayers and heartfelt sympathy for the family. Sincerely,
    Scott and Cindy Spagnol

Saddened to hear of your dad's passing. I remember quite well when you all moved from Michigan and rented the house next door to us.
Peace and God's blessing on your entire family during this time.

    Geraldine (Gerri) Martisek

  4. Many good memories from our days after Charles & Delsie & my late husband, Bill & I met on the same night, dated together & kept in touch through the years since 1962. Charles & Bill were roommates & Delsie & I were roommates the entire time we were in school at Bronson Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. I'm missing all of them.
