Carolyn Faye Collins Sparling

July 27, 1928 – February 9, 2024

Carolyn Sparling passed away very peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024 in Pearland, Texas with her family by her side. She lived a long, happy, and healthy life of 95 years.

Carolyn was born July 27, 1928 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Thomas Burton Collins and Margaret Fay Collins. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ann Nesbitt and her brother- in-law, Kirk Nesbitt. Additionally preceding her in death were her children’s father, Dr. Robert L. Andrews, her children’s stepfathers, Robert Hunter Perry and Colonel Gene Sparling.

She moved from Houston, Texas to Friendswood, Texas in 1961 where she enjoyed raising her children, socializing with friends, and being involved with activities in the community.

Carolyn thoroughly enjoyed her days substitute teaching for Fort Bend County and Friendswood elementary schools. She participated in her children’s activities like girl scouts and sports.

She was always known for her quips like “How’s your health?” “Love you more”, “A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck”, “Give me a quick call when you get home”.

Carolyn is survived by her children: Debra Andrews Hill and her husband Jim, Diane Andrews, Robert Andrews and his wife Gisele, and Carolyn Andrews McGee; Grandchildren: DiAnna McGee, Ashley McGee Aumock, Galen Andrews, and Abby Andrews; Great Grandchildren: Jaydon McGee, Jordan Aumock, and Bailey Aumock; Nephew: Kirk Nesbitt and his wife Debbie and Niece: Kathy Nesbitt Aaron and her husband Shane.

Carolyn’s genuine love for others and her appreciation for life lit up any room, along with her happy songs and sayings (which any family member or caregiver can recite by memory).

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 A.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 (281) 992-7200 with Rev. Moe Mays officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.

Pallbearers will include Galen Andrews, James Hill, Austin Hill, Kirk Nesbitt, Jaydon McGee and Jordan Aumock.

We will forever hold sweet memories of Carolyn close to our hearts.

“I love you, a bushel and a peck. A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck. A barrel and a heap and I’m talkin in my sleep about you…about you.”
