In Loving Memory

C Edward Weaver

November 14, 1940 – August 25, 2021

C Edward Weaver, 80, of Alvin, Texas, entered heaven on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, because he made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ. Ed was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Ft. Lauderdale where he met his loving wife Evelyn Nelson-Weaver. The Weavers are currently active members of Heights Baptist Church. Sharing their faith and serving God is an important part of their life.

Ed was born on November 14,1940 in Houston, Texas to the late Grover Wayne Weaver and Elizabeth Rose (Clark) Weaver. Growing up in League City, Ed attended Dickinson High School, class of 1959. He graduated from the University of Texas, Austin, with a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Ed loved life! His good friend, Dale, described Ed as “a wonderful man’s man with a great smile and loyal to a fault.” Ed was always ready to set sail or fly into the wild blue yonder with his friends. He served as a leader of the Wednesday night sailboat races at Rick’s Turtle Club in Clear Lake for twenty-five years. During these years Ed was a yacht broker with Mockingbird Marine.

Preceding Ed in death were his brother, Fred Weaver, and his sister, Mary Ann Hieronymus. He is also survived by his daughter Marcelle Bass and her mother Gabrielle Marselli. Ed was blessed with two grandchildren, Harrison and Grayson Bass.

Friends are cordially invited to attend a memorial service with the family at 11:00 AM. on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Heights Baptist Church located at 591 CR 144, Alvin, TX 77511.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gathering Place, an interfaith ministry for families affected by Alzheimer’s and related dementias. Donations made be made at https://gatheringplacebrazoria.org/donate.
