In Loving Memory

Beverly Elizabeth Parker Starr

November 12, 1946 – May 3, 2025

Beverly Starr passed away May 3, 2025, in her home in Pearland Texas surrounded by her family.

Beverly was born November 12, 1946, in Waldron, Arkansas to Leland and Lorene Chrystabell “Pat” Parker.  While growing up her family lived in Fort Smith Arkansas and Los Angeles California as her father who worked as a welder followed job opportunities.  Her father passed away in 1959 leaving Pat with 4 children and little means of support.  One of the brothers, James Randall Parker, had Cerebal Palsey and needed full time care.  Pat had to go to work to support the family and at the age of fifteen Beverly had to quit school and care for her younger brother.  As time went on Pat remarried and took care of Randy and Beverly went to work.  In 1973 Beverly married Calvin Starr and at the time of her passing they had been married 52 years.

In 2006 Beverly's mother went to a nursing home and she was again in charge of Randy's care.  United Cerebal Palsey provided around-the-clock care in his home, but Beverly had to make the trip from Pearland to Ft. Smith for a week every month until his passing in 2015.  Any of the frequent times Randy had to be hospitalized for his numerous ailments UCP did not provide care and Beverly went and stayed with him 24/7 as long as he was in the hospital, sometimes lasting as long as 2 weeks.

For the last several years Beverly has volunteered at a church resale shop in Friendswood and really enjoyed her time there and made many good friends over the years.  Her laugh was unique, and you did not have to see her to know she was nearby.

Beverly is survived by her husband Calvin Starr, brother Pat Hopkins, sons, Ronnie Starr and wife Shari, Nick Starr and wife Jeanette.  She also had four much-loved Grandchildren, Hayden Starr and wife Torie, Kate Starr, Paige Platt and husband Gavin and Oceania Starr.  There are three really special Great Grandsons, Kyler Starr, Julian Starr and Deacon Starr.

Beverly was preceded in death by her mother Pat, her father Leland and stepfather TW Rollans and brothers Donnie and Randy.  Also, son James Bart Starr and grandson Riley Starr.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 31, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 North Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas 77546 (281) 992-7200.

My condolences to Calvin and his family…I met Beverly as a part time caregiver to her brother Randy…we became fast Friends…and as the years passed we became very good Friends…Beverly had a heart as big as Texas and her sense of humor was easy and sincere…I loved Beverly very much and will miss her deeply…RIP dear Friend!

    1. Mondays at The Shepherd's Nook are not the same without our dedicated volunteer, Beverly. She was knowledgeable, hard working, big hearted, and had a great laugh. She is greatly missed. She will not be forgotten.

  2. We at The Shepherd's Nook, where Beverly volunteered for so many years, are heartbroken over her passing. She was such a faithful volunteer. We knew that we would see her there every Monday morning without fail, sometimes bringing one of her grandsons. Our Mondays are very quiet now without her. She was loved and cherished very much. May she rest in peace and rise in glory! And may her memory forever be a blessing!

I knew Beverly from The Shepherd's Nook. She was a wonderful and faithful volunteer who is greatly missed. May the Lord bless her and give strength and peace to her family.

  4. Beverley was always fun, laughing and telling funny stories. She worked hard and was a pleasure to work with at "The Nook". We shared many special conversations and she always talked about her family. May she rest from her labors. May God's love be with her family as they face life without her.

  5. Beverley was a great wife and mother. She was a good sister and worked hard to support her family.
I am glad you have your family to help you. Only time will ease the pain.
No words can convey the sorrow you feel.
Please call if you need anything or just want to talk.
    I liked the obituary.
