Betty Jean Hill Felts

October 23, 1929 – January 19, 2025

Betty Jean Hill Felts passed away at her home, into the loving presence of her Lord and Savior, Sunday, January 19, 2025, with her husband by her side.

Betty was born at home on October 23,1929 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Arden Cyril Sr. and Winnie Vincent Hill. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arden C. Sr. and Winnie Hill, brother Arden C. Jr. and wife Fleta Hill, sister Joann Kelly, and brothers-in-law Garland Kelly and Richard Tindall.

Betty’s family moved to Arkansas from Louisiana where Betty spent her formative years. In 1946 the family relocated to Friendswood where Betty graduated from Friendswood High School in 1947. Following graduation, she worked for American National Insurance in Galveston and then later, Continental Emsco and at Hill Sand Company. She and Bob loved to travel in their fifth wheel and crisscrossed the USA. They also enjoyed spending time at their home in Sibley Acres on Toledo Bend. 

Betty is survived by her husband of 71 years Robert C. “Bob” Felts; sisters: Lanice Kelly, Velma Robinson and husband Dan, and Leola Hancock, brother, Jim Hill and wife Debbie, sister-in-law Cleo Dell “Pat” Richardson and brothers in law, Buddy Kelly and Trout Felts. She’s also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. 

Betty and Bob were charter members of First Baptist Church Friendswood where she faithfully served; even into her 80’s where she volunteered as church receptionist. 

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 9:00 A.M. with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 A.M. at First Baptist Friendswood, 111 E. Heritage, Friendswood, Texas 77546 with Rev. Moe Mays officiating.  Entombment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.

Pallbearers will include Trey Hill, James Hill, Adam Hill, Austin Hill, Graham Hill, T.J. Felts and Joshua Pavelka.

Honorary Pallbearers are Avery Hill, Grayson Hill, Tyler Bandini, Deana Ellisor, and Norma Culpepper.

Our family sincerely appreciates the loving care provided by Emma Courts and Karen LeMay. Words cannot express how truly thankful we are.

    Betty became my friend. Love every Friday taking Betty to the get her hair beauiful.
    Betty & I & her husband Robert ,( Bob ) had a lot of laughter.Story forever live in my heart.

    Came to care for Betty.
    She want say the Lord prayer. Betty & I pray together. Betty said I'm ready to walk again.she said heaven calling me. make sure Bob care for.

    1. By accident I happened upon Betty's obit. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. More sorry that I was not able to be there with you at this time. i used to have someone that would contact me but we are all so spread out that we do not keep up with each other. May God give you all His perfect peace. I miss getting to see my friends that are left out in Friendswood & other locations. My love to all of you. God's blessings to all of you
