Betty came to Houston, Texas in the 1960s and moved to Friendswood in early 2000.
Betty will be remembered for her well-appointed homes, her beautiful landscaping and flower gardens, her generosity, and her interest in history. Her landscaping received many compliments, and she found her greatest joy working in her yard. She sponsored many of her grandchildren’s activities, financially supported many friends and family members in need, and donated to several charities. She also had a keen interest in genealogy, particularly the Civil War era. She held many positions in the United Daughters of the Confederacy, including Treasurer and President, and was honored to be voted Honorary Life President, Texas Division.
Betty’s family is extremely grateful to Lisa Ragland Caregivers, Traditions Hospice, and the many supportive friends and neighbors who helped them during this time. Without them, her family would not have been able to honor Betty’s wishes.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Betty Mann. She was a true friend of the south and very generous. She will be missed.
I've known Betty in UDC for many years. I admired her work in UDC and one time her traveling from a convention in Virginia to Florida when she drove by herself. She was fearless. We visited together a few years ago when I learned of her illness. She was brave. I will miss her.
I had the pleasure to know Betty through UDC. She was very devoted to the cause. A sweet lady. My condolences to the family. Betty will be missed.
I had the pleasure of knowing Miss Betty through her daughter Cheryl, Miss Betty was always very nice to me and always willing to show me around her beautiful backyard garden it was her pride & joy ! She loved working out in her yard 😊 we both enjoyed our plants she will truly be missed 😥
Please accept the condolences of Betty's Lady Washington Chapter DAR and Jefferson Davis Chapter UDC on Betty's passing. We will miss her in our lineage organizations and the love she had for our country and for the South. She gave much of her time to promoting the activities of historical preservation and remembrance and we thank her for that.
