Betty Alice Robinson Bludworth

August 7, 1928 – March 14, 2022

Betty Alice Bludworth passed away peacefully on March 14, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.  She was born August 7, 1928, in Ft. Worth, Texas.  Her parents were Jim Robinson and Jessie McIntyre.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allen Bludworth and daughter, Leslie Karen (KK) Farmer.  Betty is survived by her daughters, Judy Shuler, Teri Bludworth, and Rhonda Bludworth; grandchildren Rand Shuler, Nicole Tait and Zachary Cook; great grandchildren Mia Tait, Connor Tait and Cameron Tait.  

Betty worked for her husband's businesses, primarily as an accountant.  After her children were old enough, she took classes at University of Houston and became a self-made accountant.  She was a very strong advocate and pioneer in many ways for the mentally challenged.  She was the founder of Special Friends here in Friendswood and A Friend's Gift as part of MHMR.  She and her daughter Teri started Special Olympics Equestrian in Texas.  Her daughter Rhonda was her greatest joy.  

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home in Friendswood, Texas.   Immediately following there will be a celebration of life get-together at Robert and Betty's home in Friendswood.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Special Friends in Betty Bludworth's name.  Special Friends is a social and educational support system for the mentally challenged and their families in the Friendswood area.  The address is: P.O. Box 1382, Friendswood, TX  77549.

  1. Betty was a careing Loving person. Her love for others will always be remembered an the blessings she gave.
    She will always be remembered an hold a very special place in my heart.

  2. Betty was a special person that commanded respect. What she accomplished with the mentally challenged people and their families will be remembered forever. My son Brian competed with Ronda in equestrian and aquatics for years. We will remember Betty on the sideline cheering them on.
    She is a huge loss to her family and friends. Watch over us from up above Betty, we love you.
