Bert Roland Fisher

April 22, 1944 – April 26, 2023

Bert Roland Fisher, 79, of Friendswood, Texas passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at UTMB Hospital in Webster, Texas.  Bert was born April 22, 1944, in Houston, Texas and was a resident of Friendswood for 27 years.  He was employed by the United States Postal Service for 49 years. 

Bert was preceded in death by his parents, William Fisher and Lanora Colling Jordan, brothers, William Fisher and Tim Fisher, and his granddaughter, Hannah Rose Arredondo. He is survived by his wife, Jodie Navarro Fisher; son, Bert Parrish Fisher; daughters, Robin Elizabeth Arredondo and husband Mario, and Tamyra Lynn Greer and husband Joel; three grandchildren, Lindsey Arredondo Cummings and husband Sam, Savannah Grace Lee Fisher, and Jordan Allon Greer; four great grandchildren, Cam Arredondo Cummings, Case Arredondo Cummings, Corryn (Coco) Elizabeth Cummings, and Palmer Lane Fisher Fuller; sister, Kay Brodine and husband Mike, and brother, Tod Fisher and wife Terry.

Bert had a love for birds, Martins and especially racing Homing Pigeons.  He was involved in many racing clubs.  He won many awards and was televised by Steve Smith, a TV news anchor from Houston, Texas during one of his races.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546, (281) 992-7200.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546, (281) 992-7200 with Joel Greer officiating.  Interment will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Mario Arredondo, Sam Cummings, Johnny Taylor, Johnathon Sparks, and Troy Alvarado.

  2. I’m sorry to hear of Bert’s passing. He was my mail carrier for many years in Alvin and would share some snacks with my dog who would follow him to the park in Hillcrest. Praying for peace and comfort for all who knew and loved him. ❤️

    Jodie and family, so sorry to hear this. Bert was always so sweet and kind. I remember baking a birthday cake in the shape of his mail jeep and how surprised he was that we celebrated his birthday in the beauty shop. I wish you well!

    I’m so very sad to hear of Uncle Bert’s passing. He was such a kind, wonderful man. I remember when you and him came to the hospital when Jacob was born. I remember him holding Jacob, I still have the picture. It is such a precious memory to me!!

    Bert was always good about keeping in touch with Dad (Roy) after his retirement and through various health incidents and it was always appreciated and brightened Dad’s day. He’ll be missed. May God bless your family with comfort and strength thru this difficult time.
