March 22, 1941 – August 29, 2024
Benjamin Antonio Barajas, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 29, 2024, at Southeast Memorial Hermann Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Ben was 83 yrs. old. Ben was born in Alvin Tx, on March 22, 1941. He was a hard worker in everything he did and expected the same. Most of all, was a dedicated family man, a husband, father, grandad, uncle, and friend that loved unconditionally. His wife Stella and family are the true light of his life, and he will be dearly missed.
Ben's biggest joy was spending time with his grandsons, taking them lunch when time allowed, watching them play little league sports and traveling the Texas Hill Country looking for new places to eat. This time was spent cultivating the kind of men he is so proud of today. He was also involved with multiple organizations that he was truly devoted to. As a member of Alvin Missionary Baptist Church, he served proudly as a Deacon and enjoyed the spending time with the youth as he and Stella volunteered annually at Vacation Bible School and as a Bus Driver to Church Camp. He was a Master Mason at the Fairbanks Masonic Lodge 1363 as well as the Alvin Masonic Lodge 762. Ben was a machinist by trade, later working for Amoco-Texas City Refinery as a Process Operator were he eventually retired from. After retirement and some time traveling, he went to work for Alvin ISD as a school bus driver where he found his passion to help with Special Needs children, driving a Special Needs bus. After 10 years he stepped down to continue traveling and spending time with family.
Ben is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Stella Barajas, his son Ben Barajas and wife Dedra, his grandsons Anthony Barajas (Jassie Brooks), Austin Barajas (Kayla LeBlanc), Cameron Garton (Kendall Garton), numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends that he loved and cherished.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM; the service to follow at 11:00 AM at Alvin Missionary Baptist Church, 2101 W. Lang, Texas 77511.
Following the service Ben will be laid to rest at The Confederate Cemetery, 1636 Dickinson Rd. Alvin Tx. 77511

Such a great man and role model! Kept my Moms bus fueled up many years. Mr Ben, say hello to my Dad up there in Heaven. Your work here on Earth is done and your Son, and Grandsons will continue the legacy you left and take care of that beautiful wife of yours, Mrs. Stella! RIPBB
What an amazing man that we have been blessed to know for over 40 years. He has been a guiding light to so many people, family, friends and total strangers! He shared with anyone in his presence, his love of family, love of life, his Christen faith and his love of finding the next best BBQ place! May he rest in peace.
