September 24, 1932 – December 4, 2023
Monday, December 4th, 2023, Barbara Rehak age 91 went to be with Jesus and Mickey, her loving husband of 70 years. She was born on September 24, 1932 in Gulf, Texas to Lawrence and Mattie Kain. She was predeceased by husband Mickey and brother Lawrence Kain.
Barbara is survived by daughters Cynthia Rehak of League City and Patti Spencer and husband Stuart of Cypress Texas. Granddaughter Allison Ellison and husband Jason and their children Emily, Nathan and Abigail. Grandson Michael Spencer and wife Bridget and their children Hailey, Ryan and Sean. Granddaughter Ashley Kosub and husband Justin and their children Kip and Shannon.
Barbara attended Wharton County Junior College and worked there as well. She worked seasonally for the Wharton County Tax Assessor’s Office. While she and Mickey were raising their children, she enjoyed working as a Girl Scout leader and Vacation Bible School worker. Barbara taught her remarkable sewing and cooking skills to her daughters.
Barbara read through the Bible in her faithful daily devotionals. When younger and after Mickey retired, she and Mickey both loved being active members in the only two churches of their 70-year marriage, Newgulf Baptist Church and Bay Area Church in League City, Texas. So sorry for your loss Cynthia. Prayers for all.
Barbara was an amazing woman. Her & Mickey were so special over the years to my whole family. Growing up in Newgulf Baptist church around them are very special memories. Even after Paula & I moved away we were in contact with them. They were such a blessing to all. Sending prayers & deepest sympathies.
Dear CJ!
My Deepest Sympathy in the Loss of your Mom!
May she Rest-In-Peace!
With Love,

Barbara was a remarkable woman who touched many with her caring. She always met us with a smile and was so welcoming to all of us. Her warm personality will be missed and our condolences extend to Patti and CJ and the rest of her family. I know she is at the right hand of Jesus, guiding her family as their new guardian angel.
