In Loving Memory

Armida Jimenez

December 19, 1936 – March 16, 2022

Armida Jimenez (Weda) born in Galveston, Texas passed away on March 16, 2022 from a sudden illness.  She was born December 19, 1936 to Urania Alverado and John C. Jimenez (for all her life she did not want to divulge her age – always 20 years younger)!!

She had 5 sisters, they all had “Sister Numbers” #1 Cora Caballero, #2 Natalie Jimenez (Baby Doll), #3 Rae Hester (Baby), Armida #4 and #5 Thema Chavez.  Can you imagine the Jimenez household in the 1940”s and 50’s with 5 daughters?? Born and raised in Galveston she proudly wore her “BOI” (Born on the Island) necklace for all to see.

Armida graduated from Ball High School as a Drum Majorette.  Soon after graduation she married and traveled with her Navy hubby.  She worked as a dental assistant for many years and worked so very hard her whole life for her children.  She retired to become the best Grandma in the Universe to Kolbi and Lee at the Dolan home.

Her hobbies included gambling, Dallas Cowboys (don't dare call her during the game) and going to sporting activities with her grandkids.  The doctor encouraged her to exercise, so her close friends chose dancing at "The Hop" as exercise.

Although she is no longer with us; her spirit will remain timeless with us.  She was a beautiful soul; loving, selfless, caring; passionate about her family.

Armida is survived by her children, Sabrina Brown and husband J.J. Womack, Larry Ochoa, Natalie Dolan; sisters, Rae Hester and Thelma Chavez; grandchildren, Lee Dolan and wife Krystal, Kolbi Dolan and Lawson Ochoa; great-grandchildren, Hayden and Ryan Dolan; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 6:00 P.M. at Faith Assembly of God, 700 2nd Street, League City, Texas 77573.  We are so happy you can join us with John Caballero leading the celebration of her life.

Many Thanks to Essential Hospice (Laura Labry and Trish Alvarez).  Special Thank-You to Tricia Elkins for helping us understand Pancreatic Cancer and the best options for her to enjoy her remaining brief time with us.

Condolences may be sent to the family in care of Jeter Memorial Funeral Home at www.jeterfuneralhome.com.
