Anne Jean Armiger

July 20, 1945 – October 29, 2021

Anne Jean Armiger passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at the age of 76 in Webster, Texas.  Anne was born to Robert and Frances Longenecker of Eldora, Iowa on July 20, 1945. 

Anne was active in the high school and college bands.  She graduated from Eldora High School in 1963 and attended the University of Northern Iowa, where she met her husband David.  Anne married David in 1965 and graduated from college in 1966.  She was a lifelong Methodist and was an active member of League City UMC.

In 1966, they moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin, where Anne taught Junior High Language Arts and both of their children, Andrew and Sarah, were born.  In 1981, the family moved to League City, Texas where she taught Language Arts in Clear Creek ISD at Webster Intermediate and Brookside Intermediate.  She loved teaching and enjoyed reading, cooking, singing in the choir, traveling, and especially her children and grandchildren.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Jane Bell.

She is survived by her husband David, son Andrew and wife Yoko of Longmont, CO; her daughter Sarah Willis and husband Fred of Katy, TX; granddaughter Selah Willis and grandson Judah Willis.

A private family ceremony will be held later this year.

The family is grateful for the caregivers at Regency Village and Faith Community Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory be sent to UMCOR at umcmission.org.
