January 28, 1925 – September 24, 2021

Annamarie E. Shields nee Tischhauser passed away on September 24, 2021 at Baywood Crossing in Pasadena, Texas. She was 96 years old. She is survived by her 2 children, their spouses and 3 grandkids all of which loved and cherished her as a mother, grandmother and family matriarch.

Ann was passionate about helping her family and those whose lives she touched. In her late teens and early twenties she was a nurse’s assistant in war torn Germany. She met and married her husband in 1945 after the war ended.  She came to America where she became a naturalized citizen of the U.S. She spent many years as a clerk working for various government agencies eventually retiring from U.S. Immigration Services after 23 years of service. She received numerous letters of commendation from all over the world for her efforts in aiding those wanting to become citizens of the United States. After retirement she continued helping others by volunteering with the American Red Cross at William Beaumont Army Medical Center for 23 years.

 Interment date at Fort Bliss Cemetery will be decided in the near future.
