February 12, 1927 – January 3, 2022
Alpha Mae Price Siems, 94 of Friendswood passed away peacefully on January 3, 2022 at the home of her daughter in Friendswood.
Alpha was born February 12, 1927 in Monroe, Louisiana to Otto Price and Ella Brown Price. Alpha was married on December 10, 1945 to H. T. Siems Jr. and widowed on October 15, 2007. She and H.T. were married 61 years. They had three children; Debra Aniece Siems who married Mike Schkade , David Wayne Siems who married Cindy Randall and Mark Edwin Siems who married Cheryl Mayberry Browning. Alpha has 6 grandchildren: Diane Schkade Matthijetz married to Michael Matthijetz; Jennifer Schkade Lobaugh married to Shane Lobaugh; Tia Siems Crowder Brooks married to Ryan Brooks; Shaun Siems married to Suzanne Redford; Jason Siems and Danielle Siems Varnell married to Tim Varnell. She also has two grown grandsons by marriage: Chris and Keith Browning. Alpha has 6 great grandchildren: Shalyn Hernandez and Shelby Crowder, Brandon and Blake Matthijetz, Austin Lobaugh and Aspen Varnell.
Alpha had a very active life. She worked at her dad’s RC Cola bottling plant in Galveston (where she met H.T.) Raised her family and began working as an office manager in the oil and gas industry for over 20 years. Hobbies included sewing, boating, water skiing, camping, skate boarding with the kids, swimming, building model trains and painting all accessories for the model train track in the garage. H.T. came home with a motorcycle one day and she rode on the back with him one time and the next day bought her own matching Honda 305 Dream and loved it!! Next interest was collecting classic Ford Mustang convertibles. Alpha’s pride and joy was her 1968 Shelby convertible. They escorted dignitaries in many parades, took road trips and participated in many car shows and car clubs.
In retirement, they sold their home and classic Mustangs and they began traveling in their many motorhomes as they would trade up to bigger and better ones along the way. They enjoyed being avid full-time RVer’s for 14 years and traveled many miles and many states. They stayed in Georgetown in their RV for a time at David and Cindy Siems. Then they headed to Friendswood as their last stop when they ended their traveling and moved into a senior apartment complex. They became members of Hope Lutheran church, where Alpha was active in Ladies Guild, Braille workshops twice a month, and began to play Bunco with several groups. After H.T.’s death, Alpha moved into a senior complex on her own; but after breaking her hip she moved in with Mike and Debbie Schkade in Friendswood. In these later years, she loved to color!

I wasn't fortunate to know Alpha until late in her life and I enjoyed her and Jinx so much — two very special ladies. Your family is in my hearts and my prayers as you grieve the losses of both. God's comfort, blessings and love —
