November 9, 1938 – May 3, 2024
Albert Joseph Radous, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and esteemed member of the community, passed away on May 3, 2024, at the age of 85. He was born on November 9, 1938, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Bertha Grossman and is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Joan Radous. He is preceded in death by his brother George.
Al, as he was affectionately known, attended Benedictine High School, graduating in 1956, and continued his education at Western Reserve, where he earned his bachelor's degree. A dedicated family man, he is survived by his daughters Kim Brooks (Kenneth), Jennifer Young (Brannon), sons Kevin Radous (Barbara), Jeff Radous (Heather), and Paul Radous (Pedro), along with his six cherished grandchildren: Andrew, Nathan, Colin, Sidney, Jacqueline, and Zoe.
Al was an accomplished real estate agent, dedicating 40 years to his profession. However, his true passions lay in his family and his faith. From a young age, he devoted himself to serving the church, becoming an active member of Mary Queen Catholic Church in Friendswood. Al was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, always ready to offer his time and support to the Lord's work.
Known for his quick wit and infectious humor, Al had a knack for bringing smiles to those around him. His warm personality and jovial nature endeared him to all who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Monday, May 13, 2024, at Mary Queen Catholic Church, 606 Cedarwood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546. Visitation will take place from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M., followed by a rosary from 10:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. A funeral mass celebrating Al's life will commence at 11:00 A.M. Following the graveside services, a reception will be held at the Mary Queen Parish Hall at 2:00 P.M., providing an opportunity for loved ones to share fond memories and support one another during this time of loss.
Albert Joseph Radous will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will continue to inspire and uplift those he leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Al through the link provided below.

A great Man!
It saddens me greatly to receive the news of Al’s passing. Saying he was an active member of Mary Queen Catholic Church is an under statement. Al served in to many roles . Al had such a dynamic voice and made his parish service memorial for parishioners.
May Al’s soul Rest in Peace and may God’s Perpetual Light shine upon him.
Condolences to the Radous family. May you always feel the love of MrRadous that extends beyond space and time.

The poet W. H. Auden says it so much better than I could:
When a just man dies,
Lamentation and praise,
Sorrow and joy, are one.

Joan and Family-
Al was a true gentleman in every way. He faithfully served our Mary Queen church as daily acolyte and lector for so many years. I found him a true friend who was always gentle, honest and very kind. He was willing to help anyone and was never angry or critical. He had a keen sense of humor and was rich in common sense. He will be greatly missed. God bless and reward you Al. Pray for us left behind.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him.
So sorry to hear about Al’s passing. I will cherish my memories of Al from teaching CCD in the old wooden hall (former church) to lecturing together. He was a Mary Queen service icon. Condolences to Joan, Kim and the rest of the family.

People come and go throughout our lives but a few leave an indelible mark. Al Radous was one of those. His joy, humor and genuine thoughtfulness uplifted everyone around him, including us. We are grateful to God for having Al in our lives for many years. And we celebrate his new life in the Lord’s kingdom. All our love to Joan and all of the Radous family, whom we hold close in our hearts.

To Joan and the entire Radous family, we were so sorry to hear about Al’s passing. He was truly a good man, a good family man, and the memories we have of you and Al in an earlier stage of our lives will always be in our hearts. May God be with you during this difficult time.

Mr. Radous, Al as he once told me to call him, which to me was weird since he was my Dad's age 🙂 was so nice and funny. He was working in the old building on 2351 and 518 when I first started working for Tony Lockwood American National. He would always tell me a "dad joke" or some funny story in the copy room. It was always a highlight of my day. So sorry for your loss, many fun memories of him, praying for your family!

We attended Al's funeral on Monday. He was a real Renaissance man, a man for all seasons, and, especially, a man of God. The Bible so eloquently describes him: "The upright man walks in his integrity." (Proverbs 20:7). Al had a golden voice that so often read God's Word as a lector. When we had a calamity in our home, a water leak that damaged our living room ceiling, Al came to our rescue. He knew we were on social security, so he sent one of his sons to do the repair. It was an act of pure Christian love. We have been saying the Rosary for Al & Joan, their whole family, and all who love them. Life is not ended, just beginning. Christ did not die for nothing. Because of the Scarifice of the Savior, Jesus Christ, we will see Al again. Till then, all our love and prayers to the whole Radous Family, Steve & MarySandra Foster, Friendswood, Texas
