December 10, 1951-September 30, 2026
Lee Raney, beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, and faithful follower of Jesus, passed away on September 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Lee was born on December 10, 1951, to Herman and Betty Raney. He lived a life marked by hard work, deep faith, generosity, and an incredible love for people.
One of Lee’s first jobs was at Astroworld in Houston, Texas, where he drove the train around the park. It was the beginning of a lifetime filled with stories and experiences his family would hear and remember for years to come. Lee later worked for Gray Tool Company, where he served as a purchasing agent and Warehouse manager. More importantly, it was there that he met Brenda, the woman who would become his wife of 49 years and lifelong partner.
He eventually became the owner of Lee Raney Insurance Agency, building a career centered on relationships, integrity, and genuine care for the people around him. Lee was known throughout his community as an honest, trustworthy, and kind man who treated everyone he met with respect.
As much as Lee worked hard and took pride in what he did, his family was always at the center of his life. He deeply loved his children, Kyle and Kelli, and his ten grandchildren brought him tremendous joy. Lee had a way of making sure the people he loved were taken care of, and his family always knew they could count on him.
More than anything, Lee loved Jesus. His faith was not something he kept private. He genuinely wanted others to know the hope and love he had found in Christ, and he shared that faith wherever he went. His love for Jesus shaped the way he treated people, the way he loved his family, and the way he lived his life.
Lee impacted countless lives. He was the kind of person people remembered. He made others feel welcome, cared for, and valued. Those who knew Lee knew his kindness, loyalty, generosity, and deep love for his family.
He will be deeply missed, but the legacy he leaves behind will continue through his family, through the many people he encouraged and cared for, and through the faith he so freely shared with others.
Lee is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; his son, Kyle Raney and wife, Cassie; his daughter, Kelli Davies and husband, Mark; his ten beloved grandchildren; his sisters, Lynette Wilson and husband, Jimmy, and Liz Alley, whose husband, Everett, preceded Lee in death; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
His family finds great comfort in knowing that the Jesus that Lee spent his life telling others about is the same Jesus who has now welcomed him home.
Friends and Family are cordially invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday, November 21, 2026 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 North Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, TX 77546.
