James Franklin Siptak

May 16, 1944-July 26, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James “Jim” Franklin Siptak of Alvin, Texas, on July 26, 2026, at the age of 82. He was born on May 16, 1944, in Bryan, Texas, a son of the late Dr. John Edward Siptak and Elizabeth Ann Kocurek Siptak.

Jim was raised in Caldwell, Texas, with his three siblings. He attended St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in 1969. He spent his entire accounting career working for various oil and gas companies, eventually becoming a sought-after consultant in international finance.

After college, Jim lived in Corpus Christi. In 1977, he was introduced to his beloved wife, Jimmie Sue, through a blind date arranged by his co-worker and the co-worker’s wife, who attended church with Jimmie Sue. He moved to Alvin when he and Jimmie Sue married in 1979.

Jim loved his family, his dogs, his oak trees, and his food (especially oysters). He devoted his time to making memories with his family through camping with scouts, deep-sea fishing trips, and lots of travel, both in the United States and abroad.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bettye Carolyn Siptak Tolar; his brother, John Edward Siptak, Jr.; his brother-in-law, Roger Lee Tolar; and his adopted son, Kirill Fefelov Siptak.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jimmie Sue Brooks Siptak; his children, Robin Siptak Reynolds and Michael Siptak; his grandchildren Nathan and Katelyn Reynolds; his brother, Steve Charles Siptak; his sisters-in-law Gail Siptak and Mary Siptak; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Friends and family are cordially invited to the Funeral Service on Saturday August 1, 2026, with visitation from 10:00-11:00AM and the Service beginning at 11:00 AM at Alvin Methodist Church, 611 W South St, Alvin, TX 77511. A Rite of Committal will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 3, at the graveside in New Tabor Cemetery in Caldwell, Texas.

Those wishing to honor Jim’s memory may make memorial contributions to the Trustees Special Fund at Alvin Methodist, 611 W. South St., Alvin, TX 77511.
