Randy passed away June 16, 2026, after valiantly battling years of illness with dignity and humor. Randy is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Mary, his beloved daughter Ashley Mims, and grandsons Peter and Callahan. His mother Argie Schroeder Mims; and his niece, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. Herbert C. Schroeder and wife, Lillian, of Brenham, Texas and Mr. T.J. Mims and wife, Nita, of Courtney, Texas, his father, Thomas Mims, of LaPorte and brother, Doyle Mims, of Galveston.
Randy was born in Brenham Texas and moved to Laporte when he was 12. He attended La Porte High School, where he played football and ran track. He obtained his BBA and MBA from The University of Texas in Austin. Randy spent his career working for various firms as a Corporate Accountant. He played Tennis and Golf and loved to go to Timeout and play shuffleboard. He loved sports and was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros, and University of Texas Football Fan. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. He lived life to the fullest and will be missed.
Friends and family are cordially invited to the Memorial Service on Saturday, June 27, 2026 with visitation from 11:00AM-12:00PM, with Service beginning at 12:00 PM at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr Friendswood, TX 77546. A celebration of life will follow at Timeout Sports Bar #4, 3338 E. FM 528, Friendswood, TX 77546 immediately following the service. The family invites all to attend.
A small graveside service and interment will take place at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham, Texas at a later date.

Miss you my good friend of many years….
So many wonderful memories I have when I would come to visit Ann and Tommy in Texas .. all the fun poker nights with you snd Mary , your famous Jell-O shots , and that you taught me how to play shuffleboard …. My trips to Texas won’t be the same without you …….
