December 7, 1937 – May 3, 2025

Elwood Herbert Macy III, 87 of Friendswood, Texas passed away on May 3, 2025. He lived in Hughsonville, NY, Shell Knob, Missouri, and Chester, TX. He grew up valuing hard work and loved to help other people. He worked as a research chemist for Texaco and IBM. Boats were a lifelong love, and he was the Commodore of the New Hamburg Yacht Club for several years. He was a volunteer firefighter in Hughsonville. He loved to be surrounded by friends and family and especially appreciated the prayers of everyone during his long battle with cancer. He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Constance Macy and three daughters, Sharon Kirkes of Orange Park, FL, Cindy Coulombe of Milan, NH, and Jennifer Mijangos of Friendswood, TX, as well as sons-in-law Myron Kirkes, Raymond Coulombe, and Jose Mijangos, and his many beloved grandchildren. He is predeceased by his son, Elwood Herbert " Skipper" Macy IV, and will be interred near him in Fishkill Rural Cemetery in Fishkill, NY. He will be sorely missed!
