October 5, 1928 – April 2, 2025

Mary Lou Short, 96 of Friendswood, Texas peacefully passed away on April 2, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 5, 1928, in Alpine, Texas to her parents, John and Clarise Scott.

Mary Lou is survived by her daughters; Linda Dodgen and husband Jerry, Suzanne Brown and husband Scott; three grandchildren; Julie Dodgen, Sarah Brown, Spencer Brown and wife Monica; four great grandchildren, Gavin, Charlotte, Peyton, and Tyler.

Mary Lou was loved by everyone who met her. She was a loving Christian who made everyone feel loved.  She was very independent, hard-working, enjoyed life, and loved gardening in her yard. All the kids in the neighborhood knew her as Momma Lou. She will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home 311 North Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas 77546 (281) 992-7200. The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Tammy Sharp.

Interment will be on April 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. The interment will be officiated by Pastor Aaron Tyler.
