In Loving Memory

Janice Corean Myer Lawrence

December 28, 1929 – February 2, 2025

Janice Corean Myer Lawrence passed away at the age of 95 into the loving presence of her Lord and Savior in Elizabeth, Colorado on February 2, 2025, with family by her side.

Janice was born on December 28,1929 in Anniston, Alabama to parents Eva McCorkle Myer and Peter Gerwin Myer. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Robert (Sonny) Lawrence, daughter, Janice Patricia Lawrence.

She is survived by daughter, Pamela Lawrence Huckle and her husband, Gary Huckle, granddaughter, Kegan Herrick and her husband, Trevor Herrick, grandson, Michael Huckle, and great-grandson Jase Huckle. Janice was a pillar of strength and support for her family, and her love and memory will be forever cherished.

Janice earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Montevallo in Alabama in 1952. After graduating she taught 10th grade biology and 12th grade chemistry. She then moved to Texas and began working as a lab technologist at Jefferson Davis Hospital in Houston. After a few years she became head of the Hematology Department. She loved working with and helping people. In 1957 she married Robert Lawrence and they raised two beautiful daughters.

She was an active member of her community in Alvin belonging to AAUW, Museum Society, and bridge clubs. She was a girl scout leader for many years leading brownies through cadets. She was also an active member of the First United Methodist Church where she attended bible studies, disciple classes, and United Methodist Women activities.

In 2004 she moved to Colorado with her daughter, Pam, and family to spend time with them and be close to her grandchildren. Her favorite name to be called was Nana by Kegan and Michael.

She was an avid reader, loved to watch the Hallmark channel and enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She took great pride in teaching her great-grandson nursery rhymes, reading books, and telling stories. Janice loved going with her family on shopping and dining adventures, especially to Red Lobster, watching her granddaughter barrel race and attending family reunions. She wore a contagious smile and was the brightest light in the room everyone wanted to be around.

She will be dearly missed. May God enrich the memory of her presence as the years go by.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.
