October 6, 1942 – January 29, 2025
Jimmie Earlene Moore, born on October 6, 1942, in Gorman, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025, at the age of 82.
Jimmie is survived by her two beloved sons, David Moore and his wife, Susi, and Jeff Moore, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Melissa Clampitt and Mark, Denise Tucker and David, Merri Dockrey and Austin, Desiree Flagel and Billy, Devin Smith and John, Matthew Moore and Mia, and Mitchell Moore. She also leaves behind thirteen treasured great-grandchildren. Jimmie was a pillar of strength and support for her family, and her love and wisdom will forever be cherished.
Jimmie’s life was filled with warmth, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to those she loved. She was active in school, playing sports and marching with the drum line at Clyde High School. She began attending Mary Hardin Baylor to study to be a teacher when she met Terry Moore, who was stationed at the nearby Air Force base. They married in 1961 and had two sons, David and Jeffrey. After a few years in Abilene and San Antonio, they moved to Friendswood in 1966.
While serving her church and city, her boys were growing their families. Jimmie became a grandma on her birthday in 1984, and grandbabies kept coming until 1991. She was a wonderful grandmother to them all, and as they grew and married, she extended her love to all her great-grandchildren as well. Jimmie was instrumental in founding the first Mother’s Day Out program at First Baptist Church in Friendswood. She served her church's nursery for 20 years, nurturing countless young lives with her gentle spirit and generosity. Additionally, she was the church secretary for 20 years, bringing her meticulous care and unwavering commitment to the role. She also began volunteering at Jeter Funeral Home, where she served as a faithful friend to families who had lost loved ones. She was so loving and caring toward them, and helped the children in attendance understand the need to be sweet while their grown-ups were grieving. Jimmie was a devoted Christian, whose faith guided her throughout her life. She also had a deep love for animals, and her compassion extended to all creatures, great and small. Professionally, Jimmie worked at NASA and Eckerd Drugs, where she made significant contributions with her dedication and skills.
In her later years, Jimmie spent her time in North Texas with her son David and daughter-in-law Susi, but she always kept close tabs on all her family and friends. Jimmie was the youngest of five children and was preceded in death by her father, Earl Robert Caraway, her mother, Florence Caraway, her brothers, Lester Caraway, Bob Caraway, John Caraway, her sister, Lura Caraway, and her daughter-in-law, Denise Moore.
A celebration of Jimmie’s life will be held on February 15, at 10:00 AM, with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 with Rev. Moe Mays officiating.

Rest in peace Aunt Jimmie. You had a awesom life but now you are home, pain free and back with all your love ones who went before you. Huge your parents, my grandmother and grandfather and your sister, my mother for me. You will be missed.
Aunt Jimmie you were the best Aunt. I will miss you so much but know you are now pain free and with the Lord. Reunited with all the Caraway’s. What a reunion that must have been. Love you.

Jimmie was such an encouragement to Moe and I. She served selflessly in the nursery, loving on all of our babies and children for many years. What a wonderful Christian legacy she leaves behind for her family and friends. We loved Ms. Jimmie! 🩷
Although I couldn't be there I was definitely there in spirit.. Sending my condolences to David and Jeff and the rest of the family and friends. Although it's been a minute since I've actually had a chance to sit down and talk to her she was always a very sweet lady to me.
🙏 RIP JIMMIE..
So blessed to have had Jimmie as a dear friend and thankful for occasional visits after we both relocated to North Texas to be near our children. You didn’t have to be around Jimmie long to know she loved the Lord, her boys, David and Jeff, Susi and her Grands and Greats. Loyalty and unconditional love were given to all. I’ll really miss Jimmie.

Jimmie was such a sweet soul. I wish I had had more time to get to know her better and fellowship with her. We are praying for her family and know she is rejoicing with her Savior.
Growing up, Miss Jimmie was one of my moms church group friends but after I became an adult, I counted her as one of my friends. Jimmie helped me get my job at NASA and we worked on the same shift. We became good friends and car share buddies. Again, I worked for her at FBC nursery. She was always so caring to all. Jimmie, you go rest on that mountain, your work here on earth is done. Your leaving multitudes of people that loved you but your reward is here.
