Kenneth (Kenny) Joe Coleman, 67, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully on September 15, 2024. Kenny was born on September 6, 1957 to Dwayne and Betty (Jones) Coleman and was raised in Houston and Friendswood, TX and lived in Houston, TX.
Kenny was a quiet and reserved man who commanded respect, carried himself with great dignity, and valued family and friends. He was a soft-spoken individual with a kind demeanor; something that attracted people to him. Kenny was a kind-hearted and compassionate man which was evident with his lifelong love for animals. Throughout his life, it was no surprise to anyone that Kenny would adopt stray animals that he found at his work or along a road, which became members of his family. Kenny enjoyed various activities such as scuba diving, travel, kayaking, target shooting and investing.
Kenny recently retired from Center Point Energy in 2021 where he worked for over 40 years. His close comradery with his work friends continued after retiring with regular get-together lunches. His work friends held Kenny in high regard and laughed at his nickname, gigolo, from his earlier years at the company.
Friends are cordially invited to join the family for a visitation on Monday, September 23, 2024 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM followed a memorial service at 11:00 AM at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas 77546 (281) 992-7200.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kenny’s memory to the humane society of your choice.

I am proud to have been a friend of Ken, we first met in 1981 a HL&P and we moved forward in our careers at Centerpoint energy until we both retired in 2021.. The memory of Bird is red parrot with always be with me.

Ken and I worked together on various jobs over the years and I can’t think of a more easy going kindhearted person as Ken. Will miss running into him at Lowe’s,Home Depot or other places around Clear Lake and catching up on things.RIP my friend.

So sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. I had known him for 40 years. He was a great guy and really got to work with him a lot the last 5 years of my career. We had a lot of fun times working together. I know he will be missed by family and friends. Rest in peace my friend.
