Doris Virginia Bergin Miller

August 12, 1928 – July 21, 2024

It is with deep sorrow and love that we mourn the passing of Doris Virginia Bergin Miller of Friendswood on Sunday July 21, 2024 at the age of 95.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son Toby (Genevieve), grandchildren, Brian (Lauren), Kyle (Jackie) Miller, Michael (Stacey), Ginny Dennison, Chris Sumerlin, Caroline (Brandon) Goddard. great grandchildren Cammy, Benjamin, Hannah, Easton Miller, Jamie Dennison and many other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Larry, daughter Margaret, and daughter in law Janis.

Doris was born in Carson, Mississippi. She grew up on a farm with her 6 siblings, Ruth, Velma, Louise, Allice, Shirley, and Leo and parents, Tobias Agustus and Maggie.

She married Larry Miller shortly after WWII and started their family in Corpus Christi. In the mid 60’s the family moved to Honolulu, Hawaii where she started a bookkeeping company in Waikiki. This was the most memorable time of her life. In 1970, the family moved to Friendswood where she opened Village Interiors, an Interior Decorating Store on Friendswood Dr.

She was a member of Mary Queen Catholic Church since 1970.

Friends are cordially invited to A Celebration of Life with the family that will be held at 10:30 am on Monday July 29, 2024, at Mary Queen Catholic Church, 606 Cedarwood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 with Rev. Thomas Vellappallil, M.S. officiating. Following the service a reception will be held at the Miller residence at 104 Diamond Lane, Friendswood.

The family wishes to send a special thanks to the staff of UTMB Webster, Village on the Park, and Thomas Manor. A special thanks to her Caretaker Theresa Rowe, we thank you for your compassion over the years.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Mary Queen Catholic Church.

  1. Toby–I'm so sorry to hear of Aunt Doris's passing. She was such an elegant woman, and I loved hearing her tell stories in her Mississippi accent. I hope your memories of her are a comfort to you and your family. Sincerely, Susan
