In Loving Memory

James Bradley Barnes

March 1, 1956 – March 1, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that the family of James Bradley Barnes announce his Peaceful Passing on Friday March 1st, 2024, surrounded by his family.

James had a rewarding career with ExxonMobil for over 40 years.  He had many travels and experiences with his job.  He was so proud of the contributions he made to help his company.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 48 years Sheree, daughter Jill Alexander and husband Jason; son Joel Barnes and wife Rachel; grandchildren Chase and Kiley Alexander and Reese, Hadlee, and Jackson Barnes.  One sister, Susan McCarley, and husband Jim.

James was preceded in death by his parents J.B. and Dorothy Barnes.

James cherished every minute he got to spend with his wife, children and grandchildren.  Each time he got another grandchild, James, (lovingly called Poppy) would make up a funny song rhyming with their name.

James was known for his love of the outdoors.  He loved hunting deer, quail, and dove.  He also loved the years he had a boat and could take his family out to fish or water ski.  His best times were in Destin, FL where he made a lifetime of memories with family and friends.

We will all miss the knowledge James had for knowing so much and wanting to share that knowledge with whomever would listen.

James loved God, family and the great outdoors and will be dearly missed every day.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 10:00A.M. with the funeral service to follow at 11:00A.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 No. Friendswood Dr. Friendswood, Texas 77546 (281) 992-7200.

Interment will be at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.
