Yvonne Michele Coleman of Friendswood, TX, 71, passed away of natural causes on December 28, 2023. She was born April 11, 1952, in Osaka, Japan.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Aguillard Lundgren Henke, Sgt. Robert Lundgren and Fred Henke.
She is survived by husband Ronald Coleman; sons David, Eric and his wife Clare; sister Christine and husband Roy Marcantel, sister Sue Smith, brother Jon and wife Trudy Henke, sister Janice and husband Tim Airhart; brother-in-law Rick and Sandy Coleman; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and good friends.
Yvonne graduated from LaGrange High School in Lake Charles, LA, Class of 1970. She earned her Associates degree from McNeese State University. Yvonne and Ronald married in 1972 and celebrated 51 years of marriage in January 2023.
Yvonne was born on a military base in Japan and spent her early years travelling the world but always returning home to Lake Charles. This continued with her marriage to Ronald, as they moved several times throughout Texas, Paducah KY, and back to Texas.
Yvonne worked several jobs in the industrial field, but she was most proud of her work with the Kentucky Department for the Blind. She was a talented artist, finding joy creating beautifully crafted pieces which adorn the homes of her loved ones. There wasn't an art form or technique that she couldn't master! Some of her fondest memories involved participating in and visiting craft fairs and art festivals.
An avid outdoorswoman, Yvonne loved playing and coaching softball, traveling to youth baseball tournaments with son David, as well as fishing and crabbing. She loved all animals, especially birds and dogs, and her tender heart was shared with anyone she met. She will be missed and fondly remembered by many.
A Memorial Service will be held at Mary Queen Catholic Church 606 Cedarwood Dr, Friendswood, TX 77546 on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 1:00P.M.

To Ron, David, and Eric, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I have a lot of fond memories of Yvonne during our time working with the Department for the Blind. With her work with the blind, Yvonne did a great amount of good work to assist them with gaining independent living. It was a pleasure to have had the opportunity to know and work with Yvonne. She was very proud of each of you and always expressed a great deal of care and love for each one of you. She will be missed.
Yvonne was a great co-worker and friend to many in the Kentucky blind agency. She was a tremendous asset to the work and fun to be around. You are in the thoughts of her Kentucky friends.
