In Loving Memory

Peggy Ann McCullum (Arthur)

July 3, 1949 – April 14, 2023

Peggy Ann McCullum, a resident of Friendswood, Texas, passed away Friday, April 14th, 2023.Β  Born Peggy Ann Arthur to Aren Arthur and Dean Arthur (Gray) on July 3rd, 1949, in Starkville, Mississippi, she leaves behind in loving memory her beloved husband of almost fifty-three years, Albert McCullum and her cherished son, James Arthur McCullum.Β  Peggy also leaves behind her two brothers Daniel Aren Arthur, Bobby Dean Arthur, her two sisters Cheryil Ann King and Jacqueline Ruth Arthur; her three grandchildren Terence James, Margaret Elizabeth, and Vaughn Arthur, and their mother, her daughter in-law, Megan Beth McCullum.

In 1953, Peggy’s family moved to Joliet, Illinois where she grew up and eventually met her husband, Albert.  They got married in 1970, had their son James in 1971, and moved to the Friendswood area in 1972.

Peggy was the life of the party, lit up the room with her presence, and had a gift for creativity. If there was an event happening, there were two things you would know; if Peggy was there and whether Peggy helped design and decorated. Because if Peggy was there, you knew and if the decorations were on point, you knew she was responsible.

Peggy loved like no other.  She loved every moment spent with her family, friends, and grandchildren; and she loved them with all her heart.  She loved the Lord, and we know she is in the presence of His peace and comfort.

Peggy will be missed but she will always be remembered.

We invite you to celebrate the life of Peggy McCullum on Wednesday, April 26th, 2023, between the hours of 1:00pm and 3:00pm at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home located at 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546

  1. To the family of Peggy McCullum,
I send my condolenses especially to Albert McCullum
and James McCullum and the grandkids.
I would like to say Albert was the perfect husband to Peggy and he took such good care of her during her
    sickness.
My husband Charles is Albert's brother…that's how I know Peggy. She was such a pleasant and happy soul.
She always was the perfect hostess when we came to visit them in Friendswood. Peggy will certainly be missed.
Praying for Albert and all of her family that God will
comfort and strengthen and give them peace.

  2. In Loving Memory

We send our deepest sympathy, love and prayers.

Peggy was more than a sister-in-law to me, she was my sister and friend. She had a special way of making everyone feel loved. You always felt "at home" with Peggy. I feel so grateful and blessed to have had such a beautiful, warm, thoughtful, compassionate and kind person in my life. My brother Albert marrying Peggy and bringing her into our family was truly a gift to us all. Peggy will be sorely missed, but she will never be forgotten.

We All Loved Her So Dearly,
Sandra, Willie and The Murphy Family

  5. Peggy was truly a special woman and a special friend to many. I smile when I think of days gone by. I smile when I can almost hear your laugh. You will truly be missed and not just remembered.
You were blessed with a special husband and family. I was there when you and Al said β€œI do” and he did.
May God bless you all as you cry, laugh, celebrate, and remember.

Peggy was such a unique, loving woman – great Mother to James, adoring wife to Albert and a friend to many of us. She made every encounter a special one – if she wasn't decorating for an event, she was creating some form of memory. We cherish the scrapbooks Peggy made for us, and the wonderful times we had during our careers at Amoco. Peggy always made everyone feel special as she had the magic personality who made you love her. Oh how we are going to miss her.
Prayers of comfort for Albert, James and all of her family as she gets her angel wings. Fly high my friend until we meet again.

Albert, I am so sorry for your loss. Peggy was a wonderful lady that I always enjoyed talking to. We never ended a conversation without laughing.
