Dwight Lynn Waggoner

October 4, 1947 – June 17, 2022

Dwight Lynn Waggoner of La Marque, Texas passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Mainland Center Hospital at the age of 74.  He was born on October 4, 1947 to James Thomas (JT) and Ava Louise Waggoner in Texas City, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his mom, dad and his two older brothers, Robert and Jimmy; and nephew Lance Waggoner. As well as his daughter-in-law Tracie, who was like a second daughter.

He is survived by his wife, Marylyn; daughter, Stacy Hood and her husband Bart; son, Justin Waggoner and his wife Ashley and his youngest son, Chad Waggoner. Grandchildren, Bryce Waggoner, Zachary Waggoner, Riley Waggoner, Dylan, Megan and Brooke Hood.

As a young teen, he began shipping out as a United States Merchant Marine. He went on to marry Marylyn Marie Jackson who he would spend the next 55 years of his life with. He joined the Army in 1968 where he honorably served.  After serving his country, he then spent the next 40 years working in management at a local body shop dealership. Most of which was spent with Gene Hamon family dealership.

Dwight was a loving, kind, humble man who dedicated his life to his family and faith. His biggest accomplishments were being a husband, daddy, PawPaw, uncle and friend. He did a phenomenal job in all roles and he is now living out his reward in Heaven.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 9:00 A.M. followed by the funeral service at 10:00 A.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.

Pallbearers will include Josh Rogers, Ronald (Ronnie) Rogers, Sr., Ronnie (Scooter) Rogers, Jr., Dylan Hood, Bart Hood, Bryce Waggoner, Zachary Waggoner and Matt Waggoner.
