In Loving Memory

Robert "Dr. Bob" Langley, Jr.

October 16, 1966 – November 26, 2021

Robert “Dr. Bob" Langley, Jr., 55, of Alvin, Texas passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021.  Dr. Bob, as he was known to all, was born on October 16, 1966 in Galveston County to parents Robert Sr. and Betty Langley.

Dr. Bob graduated from Alvin High School and then attended HBU in Houston.  He transferred to Texas A&M where he earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.  He worked for 10 years for Dr. William at North Channel Animal Hospital and then in 2006 he opened his own practice, Dr. Bob’s Animal Hospital, in Alvin.  He enjoyed many hobbies including snorkeling in Hawaii, skydiving and parasailing, cooking, golf, saltwater fish tank, sports cars and gadgets.

His family was very important to him.  He was a loving son, brother, uncle, friend, veterinarian, and most of all a compassionate caregiver and provider.  The charity organizations that he unselfishly donated to were Alvin High School Booster Club, Alvin Animal Control and Shelter, Bay Area Recovery and his church, First United Methodist Alvin.  He was known for his loving Christian heart.  His generosity and kindheartedness were seen by many in the community.  He was a giver of good deeds and a true small animal whisperer.  His beloved dogs were his children:  Sunny, Charlie, Shadow, Gabe, Sugar, Chunky, Hobo, Sunshine and Missy.

Dr. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Langley, Sr.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Langley; sister, Mary and husband Victor Unterbrink and their children, Rachel and Grant; sister, Susan Agema and her children, Nathan, David, Cassie and husband Jacob Stogner and their children, Cambria and Wyatt.

A service of remembrance and celebration will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at First United Methodist Alvin, 611 W. South St., Alvin, Texas 77511, with Rev. Kenny Carter officiating.

Condolences may be sent to the Langley family in care of Jeter Memorial Funeral Home at www.jeterfuneralhome.com.

“Let your light shine before men so they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven.”
