In Loving Memory

Roy Howard Carpenter

July 5, 1940 – April 26, 2021

Roy Carpenter was born July 5, 1940 in New Castle, PA. He graduated from San Gabriel High School in California, and continued his education at Youngstown University in Youngstown, Ohio. Roy is survived by the love of his life of 58 years, Patricia; his son Scott and wife Kristi; his daughter Judy and husband Jason. Roy was a fun and wonderful "Papa Roy" to his 4 grandchildren – Hannah, Ryan, Joshua and William.

Roy began his career working alongside his father for Shenango China in New Castle, PA for over 10 years. Along with his partner Jack Hoon, he founded Diversified Ceramics Corporation in Alvin, TX in 1976. Even in his retirement, Roy was forever a salesman. Everyone knows he loved nothing more than the art of a deal and closing a sale. 45 years later, DCC is still going strong, and in the forefront of the restaurant supply industry. Roy and Jack's successful legacy will continue to live on through their sons, Scott and David.

Roy was an avid golfer and outdoorsman. He was a longtime member of Golfcrest Country Club in Pearland, where he made so many friends and left his mark. He loved to travel the world with friends and family and was known for planning epic hunting, fishing and golfing trips with his buddies. He would often be planning his next adventure while enjoying the one he was on!

Anyone who knew Roy will have a story of their own to tell of their encounters or shenanigans with him. There was never a dull moment when he was around! Roy was a character who was larger than life. He gave us 80 years of laughter, good times, and so many incredible memories to cherish. He will be greatly missed by all who crossed his path.
